Hochschild Mining PLC - underground precious metals producer focusing on high grade silver and gold - Reports 27 fatalities, along with 13 injuries, after road accident occurred this morning involving a bus operated by one of the company's contractors which was carrying workers from the Pallancata operation to the city of Arequipa in southern Peru.
Chief Executive Ignacio Bustamante: "We are all devastated by this news and we have already started a thorough investigation. However, our immediate priorities are to support those involved in the accident and their families and to work together with the relevant authorities."
