Alba Mineral Resources PLC - mineral exploration and development, plus stake in Horse Hill oil project in England - Promotes Senior Geologist Mark Austin to chief operating officer, while remaining senior geologist. In the new full-time role, Austin will be in charge of Alba's day-to-day operations in north Wales, Ireland and Greenland but will not join the board. Among past roles, Austin was geologist for Goldplat PLC and chief executive officer of its Kenyan subsidiary Kilimapesa Gold.

Current stock price: 0.48 pence

Year-to-date change: up from 0.17p on December 31
