(Alliance News) - Train set maker Hornby PLC on Thursday announced the appointment of Dan Carter as an independent non-executive director.

Carter holds no direct shares in Hornby, but has an interest in Aurora Investment Trust which owns 14% of Hornby.

In addition to the appointment of Carter, James Wilson will leave his role as a non-executive director as his commitments increase for another board appointment.

Hornby Non-Executive Chair John Stansfield said: "The board would like to thank James Wilson for his contribution to the group over the past three years during a period of significant change for the business, of which he was instrumental. James leaves Hornby with our very best wishes for the future.

"The board is delighted to welcome Dan to the board and look forward to his contribution to the next stage of the turnaround process."

Hornby shares were down 3% at 32.00 pence each on Thursday afternoon in London.
