Gym Group hires Nando's Luke Tait as new CFO & Executive Director

Tue, 17th May 2022 12:44

(Alliance News) - The Gym Group PLC on Tuesday appointed Luke Tait as chief financial officer and executive director.

Tait will join the Croydon-based gym chain from Nando's Group Holdings Ltd.

Tait is expected to start in October and will be succeeding Mark George, who will stay with Gym Group until July.

He will join the company from the restaurant business Nando's, where he has been CFO since 2017. Before working at Nando's, he held various finance roles at SSP PLC, including including CFO of the UK and US businesses.

Commenting on Tait's appointment, Gym Group's Chief Executive Richard Darwin said: "I am delighted that we have been able to attract someone of Luke's calibre to join our board and executive team. His extensive experience across global leisure businesses will be hugely beneficial as we implement our ambitious growth plans in the years ahead and continue to make fitness accessible for all."

Gym Group was trading 2.0% higher in London on Tuesday midday at 190.80 pence.
