FTSE 250 movers: Essentra gains after update; Darktrace drops again

(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 250 was up 0.9% at 23,145.14 in afternoon trade on Tuesday.
Essentra was the top performer after saying it was considering selling its filters business as a first step to becoming a pure-play components business and that its results were on track to meet full-year expectations.

Renishaw was also in the black after an upgrade to 'buy' at Stifel.

Cybersecurity firm Darktrace was under pressure for the second day in a row, having fallen sharply on Monday after Peel Hunt initiated coverage of the shares at 'sell'. The broker said there was "a disconnect between the valuation and the ultimate revenue opportunity".

IT infrastructure and services provider Softcat was also weaker even as it reported record full-year results amid strong public sector demand and a recovery in the corporate sector.
