Go-Ahead Group PLC - Newcastle upon Tyne-based bus and train operator - Hires David Blackwood to be senior independent director, joining the board on January 1 and replacing Adrian Ewer as senior independent director at the April annual general meeting. Ewer is reaching the end of a nine-year term. Blackwood is chair of Smiths News PLC and deputy chair & senior independent director of London Southend Airport-operator Esken Ltd.

Wizz Air Holdings PLC - Budapest-based budget airline - Senior Independent Director Simon Duffy will step down when current term expires on January 22, citing "other commitments". Barry Eccleston is promoted to senior independent director in his place.

Aviva PLC - London-based insurer - Hires Shonaid Jemmett-Page as independent non-executive director, starting Monday. Jemmett-Page is chair of Greencoat UK Wind PLC and of Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Ltd. She also is a non-executive director of Qinetiq Group PLC and Caledonia Investments PLC.
