Antofagasta Says To Issue Inaugural Bond To Widen Funding Sources

(Alliance News) - Antofagasta PLC on Monday said it plans to issue an inaugural bond as the miner bids to "diversify" its sources of funding.

The company said it intends to issue dollar denominated unsecured debt securities.

"This will be the inaugural bond issued by the company and will diversify Antofagasta's sources of funding, introducing long term financing into the company's capital structure. The use of proceeds from the offering of the notes is intended to be for general corporate purposes," Antofagasta said.

3% higher at 1,004.50 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.
