(Alliance News) - Anglo Asian Mining PLC on Thursday confirmed press reports claiming there have been discussions between it and the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan on a potential transaction.
Press reports claimed the government of Azerbaijan engaged a consultant to advise on a possible deal with the gold, copper and silver producer's subsidiary RV Investment Group Services LLC.
Although Anglo Asian has confirmed discussions, the company stressed the discussions are preliminary, with no terms discussed or agreed. In addition, Anglo Asian noted it is in discussions with other parties regarding the group's development.
Shares in Anglo Asian Mining were up 9.2% at 149.00 pence on Thursday.
