SDI Group PLC, up 5.5% at 211.00 pence, 12-month range 106.50p-220.00p. The Cambridge-based medical technology firm acquires Scientific Vacuum Systems Ltd, a UK manufacturer of physical vapour deposition equipment, for GBP4.9 million. SVS bolsters SDI's Sensors & Controls division. The acquisition is expected to be immediately earnings enhancing, SDI says.

Judges Scientific PLC, up 3.5% at 8,467.00 pence, 12-month range 5,700.00p-8,800.00p. The scientific instrument sector investor hails 2021 as a "year of recovery" from the worst impact of the pandemic. Organic order intake surges 25% in 2021 and is up 8.5% versus 2019. Judges expects adjusted earnings per share to top market forecasts of 209.7 pence.

M&C Saatchi PLC, down 7.4% at 194.50p, 12-month range 84.75p-210.00p. Shares fall after acquisition vehicle AdvancedAdvT Ltd says it is exploring a "share-exchange merger" with the London-based ad agency. M&C Saatchi shares still have risen 15% so far in 2022. The stock had jumped 11% on Thursday when takeover discussion were first confirmed by M&C Saatchi. Shares in AdvancedAdvT are suspended as the deal would constitute a reverse takeover.
