AFC Energy Gets Final Permit For Fuel Cell Facility In Germany

Wed, 10th Jun 2015 10:01

LONDON (Alliance News) - AFC Energy PLC Wednesday said it has got the second and final building permit from authorities in Lower Saxony, Germany, to finish building what it claims will be the world's largest industrial alkaline fuel cell facility.

The industrial fuel cell power company said the final permit will allow AFC and its contractors to erect all the above-ground infrastructure including the industrial steel frame building to house the KORE fuel cell system, all storage tanks, piping, connection points and ancillary above ground equipment.

"Over the past few months, the final permitting review and approval process has been undertaken in parallel with early phase construction works with concrete being poured this week on the site, on top of the installed piled foundations and reinforcement base structure," it said.

AFC Chief Executive Adam Bond said the permit reinforces his confidence that the KORE system will generate initial power next month.

AFC Energy shares were up 0.1% at 49.56 pence Wednesday morning.
