Mobile phone network powerhouse Vodafone has become a favourite of income investors, which hardly fits in with the image of the fast-growing sector in which it operates.The company said on Wednesday that it plans to list in India soon, though the timing will be dependent on market conditions.On Thursday, the company revealed that its Africa-focused subsidiary, Vodacom, saw revenue climb by 8.1% in the second quarter of 2011.Shareholders in another telecoms company, Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) will be keen to know what the company's exorbitantly remunerated management team is dong about the company's troublesome Caribbean arm.As many of the problems are related to weak economies in the region there is a limited amount the company can do, except drive growth elsewhere in regions such as Macau, where demand is said to be hotting up as locals develop an enthusiasm for mobile phones.
