(Alliance News) - Strategic Minerals PLC on Monday announced the appointment of two significant shareholders to the board.
The London-based mineral explorer & producer has a portfolio of projects in the US, UK, and Australia.
In July, the company announced the retirement of Alan Broome as chair with immediate effect with Managing Director John Peters succeeding him on an interim basis.
On Monday, Strategic Minerals said Charles Manners, the holder of 4.8% of issued share capital and the company's largest shareholder, will join the board and assume the role of chair following his appointment.
"[Manners] worked in investment banking from 1985 until 2009, latterly as a senior managing director and head of fixed income sales at Nomura International PLC. From 2009 to 2016, he was a co-founder and partner in an advisory firm, focused on tailored structured solutions...In addition, he is an extensive investor, focussed primarily on natural resources, healthcare and real estate," Strategic Minerals said.
Furthermore, Mark Burnett will also join the board. Burnett is the holder of 4% of issued share capital and currently serves as director of mining investments at RAB Capital Ltd.
Strategic Minerals shares were down 2.5% to 0.20 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.
