HOUSTON, Sept 5 (Reuters) - California wholesale gasolinedifferentials extended gains on Thursday on upsets at tworefineries, traders said.
Phillips 66 also reported the breakdown of a wet gascompressor at its Los Angeles-area 139,000 barrel-per-dayrefinery in Wilmington, according to regulators.
Royal Dutch Shell Plc reported the shutdown of aflare gas recovery compressor and an oxygensensor failure at its 156,400 bpd SanFrancisco-area refinery in Martinez, California.
Los Angeles September-delivery CARBOB gasoline differentialsclimbed 3 cents per gallon to a 14-cent premium over OctoberRBOB futures on the New York Mercantile Exchange, traders said.
San Francisco Bay market CARBOB traded at 4 cents over theL.A. price, up by 3 cents from Wednesday's levels as well,traders said.
Gasoline in the Portland, Oregon, market was seen flat at 6cents over October NYMEX RBOB.
L.A. CARB diesel was seen 1.75 cents per gallon lower at0.75 cent over October heating oil futures, but San FranciscoCARB diesel climbed a penny per gallon to 3 cents over, traderssaid.
Portland diesel was steady at 2.5 cents over,
