WASHINGTON, April 17 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court onWednesday said federal courts do not have jurisdiction to hearlawsuits against foreign corporations accused of aiding in humanrights abuses abroad.
In one of its biggest human rights cases in years, thejustices ruled unanimously that a court in New York could nothear claims made by 12 Nigerians who accused Anglo-Dutch oilcompany Royal Dutch Shell Plc of complicity in aviolent crackdown on protesters from 1992 to 1995.
