Aug 24 (Reuters) - The five crude oil refineries in the SanFrancisco Bay area said their operations were unaffected by a6.0 magnitude earthquake that shook the region early on Sundaymorning.
Valero Energy Corp's 132,000 barrel per day (bpd)Benicia, California refinery was closest to the quake at 27.4miles (44 kilometers).
"I have not heard anything about any operational impacts atBenicia due to the earthquake," said Valero spokesman Bill Day.
The largest refinery in the Bay area, Chevron Corp's 245,271 bpd refinery in Richmond, California continued inproduction despite the temblor, which struck at 3:20 a.m. localtime (1020 GMT).
Operations at Tesoro Corp's 166,000 bpd Golden EagleRefinery in Martinez, California were normal, said spokeswomanElizabeth Watters.
"There are no injuries or impacts to our ability to meetsupply commitments," Watters said.
Royal Dutch Shell Plc's 156,400 bpd Martinezrefinery and Phillips 66's 120,200 bpd Rodeo, Californiaplant continued operating normally, company representativessaid. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Eric Walsh)
