Heineken names Reckitt Hygiene chief Harold Van den Broek as new CFO

Mon, 08th Mar 2021 09:54

(Alliance News) - Dutch brewer Heineken NV on Monday said Chief Financial Officer Laurence Debroux will step down in April and will be replaced by the head of Reckitt Benckiser PLC's Hygiene unit.

Debroux leaves the CFO post and Heineken's executive team after the April 22 annual general meeting.

"I would like to thank Laurence for her many contributions to Heineken, both as CFO and as fellow executive board member. Over the past six years, she has strongly contributed to Heineken's success. Most recently, she played a key role in steering the company through the Covid-19 crisis," Chair and Chief Executive Officer Dolf van den Brink said.

Harold van den Broek, currently president of RB Hygiene, replaces Debroux. He will take up the CFO role from June 1.

"Harold van den Broek has been with RB since 2014 where he was CFO Hygiene before assuming his current role. Harold spent over 30 years in fast moving consumer goods companies in a broad range of finance roles across business units, regions and global functions," Heineken said.

He has also held roles with Unilever PLC, in Europe, Asia and Russia.

Hygiene is Reckitt's largest operating business and has been the beneficiary of demand for cleaning supplies to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Hygiene shares totalled GBP5.82 billion in 2020, up 20% like-for-like. Reckitt's other two businesses, Health and Nutrition, had GBP4.89 billion and GBP3.29 billion in sales respectively in 2020.

Heineken shares were 0.5% higher at EUR87.60 each in Amsterdam on Monday morning. Reckitt shares were down 1.2% in London at 6,196.00 pence.
