SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: De La Rue up again; Regional REIT falls

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Wednesday.

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Marston's PLC, up 2.7% at 38.13 pence, 12-month range 25.55p-39.30p. Shares rise in a positive read across after FTSE 250-listed pub operator Mitchells & Butlers reports strong half-year growth. M&B revenue in the half year ended April 13 rose 8.9% to GBP1.40 billion from GBP1.28 billion a year prior. Pretax profit jumped to GBP108 million from GBP40 million. The stock traded 12% higher.

De La Rue PLC, up 2.0% at 104.00p, 12-month range 29.10p-107.00p. Shares in the banknote printer spike to their best level since September 2022. Shares have more than doubled year-to-date and look set to rise for the third successive day. The firm is due to report annual results on June 18. Last month, it also pledged that by the end of May, it would update on its progress in "optimising the underlying intrinsic value of the business".

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

Regional REIT Ltd, down 3.0% at 24.15p, 12-month range 12.70p-55.00p. The commercial property firm's gross property assets were worth GBP688.2 million at the end of the first-quarter, falling 1.8% from GBP700.7 million at the end of December. Total rent collection for the quarter is currently at 97.2%, up on-year from 96.3%. It adds: "Although the inflationary backdrop continues to impact the economy, there are signs that inflation is heading back towards the Bank of England's two percent target, allowing for a more favourable outlook for the company."

Marston's PLC - Wolverhampton, England-based pub operator - Extends term of bank and private placement debt facilities to January 2025, while increasing the total available to GBP340 million from GBP320 million.
