Mohamed El-Erian, heir-apparent to Pacific InvestmentManagement Company (PIMCO)co-founder Bill Gross, will step downas chief executive and co-chief investment officer at the assetmanagement unit but will stay on the international executivecommittee of Allianz SE, the German insurer which ownsPIMCO. Douglas Hodge, chief operating officer, will step intothe chief executive role when El-Erian leaves the firm inmid-March, Pimco said in a statement.

The wealth manager of U.S. Bancorp said on Tuesdaythat Hank Zewald has been named wealth management consultant forthe private client reserve of U.S. Bank in Portland. Zewald waspreviously the owner of consulting firm Quantum FinancialPartners.
John Paul Sweeney has also joined the private client reserveof U.S. Bank in Chicago as a senior trust officer. Prior tothis, Sweeney was a managing director and senior trust officerwith the Private Bank and Trust Company.
