LONDON (Dow Jones)--U.S. fund management group Fidelity is to demand Monday the resignation of Harvey McGrath, Chairman of U.K. insurance group Prudential PLC (PRU.LN), the Sunday Times reports without citing sources. The newspaper says a group of shareholders are also thought to be sounding out a successor to McGrath, with Lord Myners tipped as a leading contender. However, Myners hasn't received an approach for the job, the report says. Other investors, including Legal & General Group PLC (LGEN.LN), are calling for Prudential Chief Executive Tidjane Thiam to stand down following the group's failed $35.5 billion takeover of U.S. insurance peer American International Group Inc.'s ( AIG) Asian arm, the newspaper says. Naguib Kheraj, former CEO of U.S. investment bank JP Morgan Cazenove, has been sounded out about his interest in the Prudential CEO role, it says without citing sources. Nobody at Prudential was immediately available to comment.
