(Sharecast News) - Energy storage and clean fuel company ITM Power announced a partnership agreement with sustainable energy company Optimal Group on Tuesday, to support sales activity in Australia.
The AIM-traded firm said that under the agreement, Optimal would provide long-term commissioning, operational and maintenance support, "enhancing" ITM Power's capabilities across the region to train and deploy skilled engineering resources and spare parts for its customers.
It said Optimal would provide nationwide service and support through its network of factory-certified authorised service personnel.
The board said the agreement would "enhance ITM Power's capability for project delivery and service of its systems, and will support it as it pursued larger multi-megawatt systems across Australia.
In addition, ITM Power said it had received a purchase order from Optimal for the provision of its 0.7MW 'HGas' electrolyser system for use in a hydrogen microgrid project in the Australian state of Tasmania, supported by the federal government's 'Blue Economy CRC' programme.
The first deployment with Optimal would be a platform for training through ITM Power's 'Hydrogen Academy'.
"Our agreement with Optimal further enhances our project delivery capability, after-sales service and spare parts support across Australia which will be key to the deployment of industrial scale systems," said Dr Neil Thompson, managing director of ITM Power in Australia.
At 1228 GMT, shares in ITM Power were up 1.09% at 556p.
