(Sharecast News) - Clinical laboratory diagnostics company Immunodiagnostic Systems announced on Friday that two SARS-CoV-2 antigen rapid test kits for Covid-19 were now available for sale in the UK, the European Union, and other countries which accept the CE-mark as the basis of regulatory approval.
The AIM-traded firm said both tests could be performed by a trained healthcare professional in community locations, such as workplaces, schools and doctors' surgeries, without the need for any laboratory equipment.

It said the tests determine the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antigen, using direct nasopharyngeal swab samples, providing a result within 15 minutes.

"Both fast and easy to use tests are based on the lateral flow principle - one in a cassette format, [and] one in a test card format," the board said in its statement.

"IDS now offers a comprehensive portfolio of SARS-CoV-2 antigen and antibody tests for the laboratory as well as for community locations."

At 1155 GMT, shares in Immunodiagnostic Systems Holdings were up 26.5% at 253p.
