IN BRIEF: Filtronic achieves a rise in interim revenue but profit down

Filtronic PLC - Leeds-based antenna maker - Posts revenue of GBP8.4 million for the for the six months ended November 30, up 5.0% from GBP8.0 million a year earlier. Pretax profit, however, decreases to GBP440,000 from GBP684,000, as operating profit falls to GBP483,000 from GBP721,000 a year earlier. Says a lower operating profit is due to an adverse first half sales mix, offset by "brief advantage from strong US dollar sales, and a higher cost base following investment into sales channels and engineering".

Filtronic PLC - Leeds-based antenna maker - Wins a contract with an unnamed UK defence customer for testing RF equipment. Filtronic says the contract, valued at GBP500,000, is a system designed to be "compatible for land, sea and airborne platforms, which will enable it to be used for both outdoor field trials and static laboratory-based testing". It says the contract award is to be delivered within the financial 2023.

IN BRIEF: Filtronic wins new aerospace & defence contract

Filtronic PLC - Leeds-based antenna maker - Wins contract with an existing aerospace & defence customer for the design and manufacture of a series of filter related developments. The company says the contract is valued at GBP400,000. It says the contract is expected to be delivered within the 2023 financial year with "a good chance of follow-on orders being received in the future for this product."

Filtronic PLC - Leeds-based antenna maker - Wins a new contract with an unnamed "quantum computing company" for the design, development and supply of microwave filters and diplexers. Filtronic says the contract, valued at GBP350,000, was awarded to the company because of its experience of designing compact, high-performance filter and diplexer modules.
