LONDON (Alliance News) - European Assets Trust NV Wednesday said it delivered a net asset value per share total return of 7.7% in sterling terms over the third quarter, representing an under-performance against its benchmark index.
The trust, which invests in quoted small- and medium-sized companies in Europe, excluding the UK, underperformed against the HSBC Smaller Europe (ex UK) Index, which gave a 9.9% return over the three months to September 30.
However, the trust pointed out that its 29% return over the nine months to September 30 was better than the index's 27%.
The trust said the third-quarter performance was supported by improving economic data across Europe.
European Assets Trust NV shares were Wednesday quoted at 930.29 pence, up 4.79 pence, or 0.5%.
