By Jared A. Favole Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--President Barack Obama on Thursday said it was a "positive sign" that oil appears to have stopped gushing out of a BP Plc (BP, BP.LN) well in the Gulf of Mexico. He said he would have more to say on the topic Friday. BP said Thursday that no oil was gushing from a mile-deep well off the Louisiana coast, a reprieve in a saga that has dragged on for more than 80 days and resulted in heavy criticism of BP and Obama. BP placed a new cap on the well and on Thursday was testing whether it could withstand pressure without oil leaking out. The tests could take two days. -By Jared A.
