HOUSTON (Dow Jones)--BP PLC (BP) said Thursday that production from its western operations in the Gulf of Mexico that had been shut in due to Hurricane Alex is back online. BP and other producers evacuated workers and shut down oil and gas output of some facilities ahead of Alex, which after making landfall in northeastern Mexico on Wednesday night was downgraded to a tropical storm.
