(Alliance News) - Amur Minerals Corp said Tuesday that rock mechanics study at its Kun-Manie sulphide nickel-copper sulphide project is now complete and has been filed and approved by the necessary Russian authorities.
The evaluation is a component of the company's project feasibility study, Amur said.
The study confirms that open pit operations can be successfully implemented at the Maly Kurumkon/Flangovy and Vodorazdelny deposits at Kun-Manie project.
It has also confirmed that conventional underground extraction methods can be utilized for any remaining deeper ores, Amur Minerals said.
Robin Young, chief executive officer, said: "The MIFERAS rock mechanic evaluation confirms that Kun-Manie can be implemented as an open pit operation."
"The rock mechanics evaluation is an important component for the design of all mines. This information and its inputs will form the basis for simultaneously establishing on-going operational safety practiced and identification of a life of mine ore production schedule," Young said.
Amur Minerals shares were trading 2% higher in London at 2.00 pence each on Tuesday.
