Lewis Jones, Stockbroker at Cornhill Capital, talks about a very positive 2017 and its strong start, with IPOs taking off on the London market. Booming business and growing enthusiasm for IPOs in a volatile market have been seen, while trading in the main market has been difficult and investors looked towards other revenue sources, such as IPOs in mainly profitable businesses i.e. healthcare, pharmaceuticals, financial services, property.

Among Cornhill’s recent IPOs are: Alpha FX (LON: AFX), Arix Bioscience (LON:ARIX) , LXI REIT (LON:LXI) and Saffron Energy (LON:SRON), the only small cap company whose appeal arrived on the big ENI name and is already producing gas assets. Lewis discusses Cornhill's access to a wide range of deals, to which clients wouldn’t typically get access, as well as to larger overseas issues, particular US and European IPOs. He also stresses on the strict compliance aspects, investment rules and criteria of his firm, which carefully analyses and guides its clients to choose the best suited investments, either on the main market or on the junior market, where the risks and returns can be higher.
