I don't want to put a damper on it but what if Woodside and Osaka studies say pipeline should go to Darwin? I can't see Timor just saying ok after all these years of saying no I really hope I am wrong.

IMO , this is very good news for the advancement of Chuditch and its potential to be advanced, to fulfil TL Gov's own plans for Gas/LNG (when available) domestic security and supplying its 3 to be Gas power stations, to give 100% of Timor Leste coverage and stable electricity supply, plan was by 2025/2026 (probably slid since inception 2021)

DILI - Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MPRM), Francisco da Costa Monteiro, states that the process for the Greater Sunrise field continues, as the Sunrise study process for the Joint Ventures continues. "We see the Sunrise Joint Venture process still ongoing, especially Timor Gap, Woodside, and Osaka Gas have carried out a very good study, so their services are already in conclusion from the timeline," he said to journalists at City 8 Manleuna, Dili, on Monday (16/09/2024).

Minister Francisco da Costa Monteiro said that Timor Leste Government through the MPRM and all its entities will intensify work and studies on various aspects, to look at LNG plants, downstream, petrochemicals, and Ammonia productions in Natarbora.

Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão stated that the TL Government has completed its process of buying a joint participation of 30% from Conoco Phillips and 26.56% from Shell Australia in the Greater Sunrise field on April 16, 2019, in Singapore, to give to TIMOR GAP, the national petroleum company of Timor Leste, a joint participation of 56.56%

This treaty will also pave the way for continuity in Sunrise Consortium's negotiations, now with TIMOR GAP, on the concepts of Greater Sunrise Development and the construction of a Natural Gas Liquefaction (GNL) plant in Beasu, in Timor Leste's southeastern part of the male's territory.
