Rockfire : COPPERHEAD Qld, Australia.[Post discussion]4 Nov 2021 06:46
There was a discussion yesterday on the Rockfire main forum.
I quote from Rockfire*s Aug presentation:
"3km x 2 km soil ANOMALY. Pg 17/31
Open in all directions and potential exists for a SIGNIFICANT copper discovery.
5 drill holes in 1972 intersected visible COPPER minerals from SURFACE TO A DEPTH OF 300M."
==
Pg 19/31
"Drilling in 1972 tested a STRIKE OF 400M W I T H I N a 3km long and 2km wide SOIL ANOMALY."
Chart shows LONG SECTION LOOKING NORTH - A L L at various cu ppm."
==
Pg 20/31 " H E L I MA G survey - M A G N E T I C READINGS. UNEXPLORED NEW TARGET AREA."
Comment:
From the discussion yesterday, I think the notion that the WHOLE AREA is mineralised at ONE CONSTANT GRADE ie 2km x 500m depth x 0.4% cu is a simplistic type cals of extrapolation.
However, the Carpentaria non-compliant JORC in 1972 showed 35mt @0.35% cu eq over 400m
strike tested.
In reality, say, take an example like Racecourse, as drilling progresses, the drill holes DONT all produce 1 consistent grade NOR 1 intersection LENGTH for all the holes. Hence, why GEOLOGICAL modelling is inputted as drilling continues. Mr Colin Bird has pointed out for example that X Mt at 0.45% cu vs Y Mt at 0.35% cu = the AVERAGE grade lower, one will need to find more MT of ore.
So, "significant" as above does NOT yet mean the type of world class deposits ie Tier 1 of 1bn tonnes of ore.
However, in recent days, Mr Price, CEO of Rockfire has said there may be a PORPHYRY BELOW the current drilling >500m. Ah, that has NEVER BEEN TESTED BEFORE even in the past.
So, this is where it gets interesting in that what is THERE if any?
The DOWNHOLE data from current drilling will be insightful but as yet, no info released yet.
So, if this potential PORPHYRY does turn out , it will be DEEPER FROM 500m and then GRADES
will be of interest.
So, history awaits Copperhead. As I said yesterday, as and when the FIRST DRILL HOLE
from 500m is drilled, that will be INSIGHTFUL to see the grade. Thereafter, as norm, the next 2 holes will tell more.
Again, like Porvenir, the prospect does NOT produce ALL the SAME GRADES AND ALL THE SAME INTERSECTION LENGTHS and this was where only DRILLING can tell and
not MULTIPLY THE WHOLE POTENTIAL STRIKE X DEPTH X 1 GRADE.

Posting to re-visit in the later stages. Too early to tell when the current Rockfire drilling at Copperhead had not given out ASSAY RESULTS yet although the cores are of interest.
