Shocking situation when Computer Systems fail and nobody understands the system.
NOBODY includes everybody in charge relying on experts to cook up
a story which can be turned upside down by devious lawyers
collecting huge fees for getting it wrong. Is Finance out of control ?
Postmasters have joined forces and will be compensated
while investors lose their investment and short sellers made big profits.
Who got rich while decent folks were tortured? Who knew and was ahead
of the crowd? Big Banks, Brokers and Hedge Fund managers?
So it seems the royal mail heathrow depot came under cyber attack tonight, don't know how bad, but mail has been diverted away I'm hearing.
Might get hushed up might not, given likely culprits.
Can't wait to sell this long-holding £280 is my ask dividend also looking forward to it

Sorry I ment Thompsons idiot I've worked in Royal mail 44 yrs and he's out to destroy it
Your a idiot
When I read this message I thought it was a call to sack Simon Thompson from Investors Chronicle
MaryBr190, "Union leaders paid more than PM.
Never head that on sky bbc cabal, do you"?
I presume that you mean Cable TV? So 1990's.....
There's a good reason for that, it's because it isn't true.
Back to school for you I think.....
Nov 2022 —
The Prime Minister is entitled to an annual salary of £164,080
CWU General Secretary Dave Ward (salary package £142,485)
RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch (salary £84,000)
Ban unions. Destroying businesses, giving false hope while fleecing members.
Union leaders paid more than PM.
Never head that on sky bbc cabal, do you?

I hope you aren’t invested as it’s very clear you have no clue about what’s going on . I feel embarrassed just reading this. If you believe in 0 hour contracts then more fool you. Do some actual research and don’t just believe what the media tell you….
Prices going up from January. I lose track how often this company increases despite the p poor service levels.
Pay the bloody posties. Sort it out management. As a shareholder I want to see these guys who we all appreciated during the pandemic getting a decent rise. The management had huge pay rises which were not earned. Get it sorted or I for one will put a vote of no confidence in the management at the next AGM. Shameful behaviour
Instead of bleating and moaning get another job.... my gaffer refused us a pay rise so I went elsewhere and got 10%. Simples
I think you need to educate yourself before spouting rubbish you know nothing about. The demands and working conditions for postal workers has gotten signifcantly worse over the last few years and management have continued to show disdain for their workforce, in particular through the pandemic.

PHunt73 - When you say "on the Royal Mail tab" you do realise that you mean, "paid for by the owners of the business" - that is the shareholders that your union seems to detest so much. So while your comrades in arms were out on strike you were enriching your future at the shareholders expense. You could have refused the training.
Doherty, Tillet & Hardie would be sickened by you!

Dave Wards job isn't in jeopardy (yet) & he is not losing money when posties strike.
What a couple of as they say in Scotland bairns totally embarrassing
Ooo that got you biting didn't it. I'm more than happy with my lexus thank you. It must really grind your gears that we are not the bin dipping aldi shoppers that you like to imagine, whilst your sat there in your little flat with literally nothing better to do than sit at your pc from 6:30am until 10pm blameing the workers of the Great institution that is royal mail for your poor financial decisions.
I'm struggling to imagine what job you do that allows you to do nothing all day . Whether or not you're left to your own devices and can " do what I want" surely you have to do something ? But I'm at a loss to figure out what that could be. Come on , enlighten us , you like to brag about everything else you allegedly have ( although the 50k equity thing was a bit of a faux pas wasn't it lol ) the fact you thought that was something to brag about tells me you have very little outside of that. Tell us what you do for a living . The only thing I can think of that would allow you to sit at a screen all day and do nothing would be a security guard ? Pffft. Are you a security guard anger??

Thompson will get his way and crush then sell off Royal Fail , i do feel sorry for delivery staff but thats it. The hours that could be trimmed in a Small mail centre like Cardiff are insane , indoor staff literally do nothing. They need to outsource logistics as they are working 3 hour night shifts and paid for 8, The transport managers are limp and throw hours around rather than get staff to work their full hours. The union are pretty much in bed with management. The night management team are more 2 faced than staff , the managers think their boss is cluelesss (THEY ARE NOT WRONG) and cannot wait for her days off , so they can run the operation properley. Managers going sick because they were taken off the acting lol. Billy Smart could run it better

Maybe it could be alot more successful.
"A person that runs a company that always knows best is a very poor boss" - correct Dynamofc unless said company is successful and profitable which mine is -
A person that runs a company that always knows best is a very poor boss.
Dynamofc - don't be daft - I use to work in communications, now I work in finance in charge of my own company and have made a success of it - previous employment history nothing to do with if someone is capable of doing a job properly, that is why you see chief execs from different industries going into other fields of work - if someone who worked for me told me they knew better than I did on how to run my company I would explain why I can run it better and if they still refused to accept this I would get rid of them - RMG like any company, is not sustainable making losses - like the print back in the day, they fought tooth and nail to stop automation and look where it got them.
dyor etc
Peaky, please don't post stuff like that if you have no idea of the roll of s postperson. Which you obviously don't.

Quote from FT "The group said it planned to axe about 5,000 full-time roles by March and the equivalent of about 10,000 positions by August next year."
Looks like I was right, but hopefully it's not the end, but instead just a smaller company.
Well-done Unions, you have done it again.

Can you explain your above post? The changes that Royal Mail want to implement on the blue-collar workers. In detail please. Especially the ageing workforce thing. Where do you source your impeccable knowledge from?
Glad to see that you averaged up today. Well done. You must have made some money. I hope it goes up again tomorrow.
P45 and new pair of slippers in the Post
A company that “needs to innovate” shouldn’t be giving out hundreds of millions in dividends to shareholders and then treat its employees like they are the problem.
Soooo last year..keep up…that money is being spent right now in Madeira….
Either get on board of ship out…
More efficiently, streamlining until your bum gets sucked in,faster work rate, less overtime and more productivity, less sick pay, make lots more money made to give to shareholders and pump up your rate of pay in the future…if it helps
A…50 press ups before work.
B…20 star jumps.
C…1 blood pressure pill.
D…1x red bull.
Keep us posted…pardon the pun
Rm has changed a lot over the last few years with no industrial action from the union, Thompson has pushed to far taking money off postman before any increase in wages that's why there's a strike
And it now needs to change a lot more to keep up with the changing conditions, something the ageing workforce is struggling with…this is now why your conditions are about to change if you like it or not also, not meaning to sound brutal…you ain’t seen nothing yet…welcome to the real world…

Yeah "summer lapsing" not all year round it's a complete joke, can't be done and probably costs more to get to it than what it's worth delivering it lol
Anyways I'll switch to the other chat now, it's been a long day.
It started of has summer lapsing then when October got here we didn’t have to do it . But now or office is in such a mess we just stay on our own rounds and try to clear them
lol instead of being sometimes 2/3 miles away in many cases.
Not sure how other offices go on but we have to do extra all year round to fill our hours. That's fine but come mid September they don't take that extra off you and you can't even do your own round without going over. They're supposed to changing the extra bit though so that it's actually next to your own delivery

goodnight and good luck to all investors and employees of the royal mail group plc.....
have a laugh and smile...it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all..... do do do
They likely added to their short positions due to the weekend action, when the FTSE was down 80 points, hoping to force it down on opening which they did, because it opened around 180 on Monday morning.
Shorting just artificially increases the available float, in the hope more sellers and corresponding buyers offering a lower bid come to market, forcing the price down.
@Smix
It has nothing to do with the shorts, the price will always go up if the sold value and volume outweighs the corresponding bought value, it's simple supply and demand.
For every sale there is a corresponding buyer, and thus if the buy volume is higher than the sold volume it means a lot more sellers were in the market and the corresponding price will always drop during the course of the day.
The reason shorts increased today, is because there was probably less actual float available on the order book, so they created some artificially hoping to entice buyers at the bid price shorted in the hope of driving the price down.
Look at another stock price that went up today that has zero shorts, and the told sold volume and value will be higher than the bought value and volume.
It's just supply and demand and double entry.
simx its difficult to understand the complexities. Your analysis in real time was interesting and spotted that circumstance with lots more sales and a rising SP. Of course, someone or more likely an automated process will push the sales through. It could be extremely helpful to know when someone is opening/closing a short position.
Following the big boys would work out, I guess.
As I said last week I don't think we will get a definitive DK decision, maybe an interim message delaying asking for OFCOM views.
Thanks JB. Would be good to get Teslo's input as to how this can happen. i.e steady increase in sp whilst sell volumes outnumber buys by 4X or 5X. Market maker sets the price so he would have had to facilitate the sp rise. Sounds like a dubious practice to me. Next big news for RM is decision RE Vesa at the latest Monday 10th Oct, by my reckoning 30 working days are up then. If Vesa don't get approval sp will take a tumble.

"we can get the mediation team involved, we use this process all the time with RM and CWU.
You two need to make up!”
Just been trawling through all the BS, might be not so bad an idea. Probably end up worse than CWU and RMG though lol
@ AngerSharkz
"That’s a very noble suggestion….but given there are clearly strong opinions here and I don’t have the ability to appease people when I think they’re wrong, I don’t think there’s much chance of that happening"
we can get the mediation team involved, we use this process all the time with RM and CWU.

Dowsie, do you seriously think that Rico Back didn't know about the USO having been a royal Mail employee since 1999?
@ Teslo
"until @Wolves entered the fray and starting trolling @Anger I thought the discussion today was reasonable''
what did you expect, the clue its in the name, Anger. He was born angry :)
Babis Rico lost his job about a month after we were told to leave letters in the frame and just deliver parcels. He then got pushed out the following Saturday we were back has normal he obviously didn’t know about the USO
@Babis until @Wolves entered the fray and starting trolling @Anger I thought the discussion today was reasonable.
Although had you been here at the same-time of year in 2019 the discussion was very similar and for the same reasons;
By the way does anyone know how @madasaballon is doing, he hasn't been seen or heard from since another poster Alan posted his social media accounts and exposed him for the Militant keyboard warrior most always knew he was.
He's probably in his element right now, with his head well and truly stuck up Dave Ward's never regions.
Can everyone stop fighting for 1 day and lets have some proper debate?
Can someone let me know what companies did Simon work before joining RM. Did he do any good work in his previous roles? what I mean is, did he leave the company he worked for better or worst financially.
This battle between the CWU and Royal Mail meant to happen prior Covid. Simon only got the job because Rico was sent back to his Swiss castle because of political pressure. The union was aware that eventually this fight will take place.
