In all seriousness I do feel very sorry for the average postie ..alot I talk to look at you confused when you ask them about the consequences of what there doing...nothing has been explained in any detail what/will/could happen to them shortly...they seem to be in a bubble, union says strike so we strike...no one seems to of mentioned to them things could turn out alot worse for them...for this the disaster lies at the union and its reps doors...the posties will soon start asking more questions once the changes are forced on them..could of this been avoided..yes...should of it been avoided yes...Will any one in the union send out an email to there members outlining what's to come if they carry on...err...no...
Lemmings iam affraid ...
No replies…just this one thread tells you all you need to no…the easiest thread on here to answer and it’s a deadly silence…
I shall answer my own question, the reason the reps on here, won’t answer it as they no very well they will lose more support quicker than posting a second class letter up a 100 metre steep driveway and stopping half way as there not fit enough to do it in one go…
It’s embarrassing really that the full facts are not given to the average postie,so they can make an educated decision, and if not sure they can ask….many do not even no the company are in the process of ripping up agreemets…I could go on…but until next week(weather still forecast to be nice all week)I will sit back and chuckle…the silence is deafening as the truth hurts…
Very good just you keep talking to yourself the
white van will be along to pick you up shortly
Very good just you keep answering your own posts the van will be along soon
The ‘average’ postie is well aware what’s going on thanks.
Given you clearly have inside knowledge can you explain:
what will happen if posties continue to strike v what will happen if they don't strike and the CWU just accepts all the proposed changes?

I could very well let you no my friend…but with the time you have available it would be more beneficial to read through a few months of threads then come to your own conclusion…you do what you feel is right for yourself…which ever way you go the outcome will be the same,it just means one will be more painful than the other,if you honestly cannot see what’s going on right in front of you then god help you
Keep striking boys:-)
We will. Because you are clueless just like your clueless clucking mates. 24/7 blah blah blah , invested in a company you know little about. Still not answered where the job losses will happen in a company that is short of over 5,000 workers and is hiring more agency by the day at double the cost, just to tread water. Answers on a postcard
Maximas does talk crap. He must be a postie stalker, claiming he's spoken to many that have no idea what will happen to them. He must look for orange coats ( makes a change from the white coats he used to) or goes chasing mail vans around. They probably look at him blank because they think , who is this ****womble.

Love it....seen as I dtop off over 100 parcels a week at two of our local sorting offices, you get to no quite a bit over the years...even walking the dog past the pickets with 4 old people there...a few weeks ago I asked them about going on strike..which opens pandoras box...blank expressions...the union there no clue...I even had to print off the agreements for them lol...a week later the rep told me they carnt rip up the agreements...lol...clueless springs to mind..
Keep striking boys...
Winner if you agree to r/m
Winner if you don't.... :-)
An ode to maximise:-
Why shouldn’t you mock a dyslexic dwarf?
It’s not big and it’s not clever.
@ Anger. 20.00 post
"""""if the operation is loss making with no way of stopping those losses……say goodbye to members of staff. It’s very very simple.""""
Excellent thought process. So, you cover up the vacancies by removing them? Is that correct?
Thereby dropping more work onto the remaining duties, staff? Is that correct?
And in one fell swoop you are saving hours?
So, what happens if these new extended duties fail? And they will in my office. What happens to all the important mail, that we spoke about the other day, doesn't that matter any more?
You're also forgetting that the customer, the sender, expects this mail to be delivered by a certain day.
Or doesn't that matter either?
And what about the parcels? We are a parcel business after all. What happens to those items?

Apologies for the Kate reply..
Internet a liittle pattchy on the yacht in the maderia cove..
Sorry to here yur not very tall..I wud never abuse a little man wiv a small mind..
Keep striking little man:_)
@ Anger.
This is not hypothetical. It is reality. I see it every day. The covid pandemic has given Royal Mail managers to do what they want. If jobs are lost or vacancies not filled it will get worse.
You want a business to compete in the courier world, but job cuts do not work. And nor do the majority of suggestions that Thompson makes.
Of course, i'd turn up for work. Just so that Thompson can strip away everything that he can? Would you?
That just shows how blinkered you are.
You'll be pleased to know that my strike fund takes me up to the very last day of action, as we know it.
You wouldn't want me to be out of pocket, would you?
Oh no! Hang on. YOU DO!!!

One thing I will guarantee ?? is once the changes come...longer routes ect...the posties will moan and moan...BUT..
Once they realise they will have to do it...and completed...with no extra pay until completed...they will get a shifty on and do it...if not...follow that lovely discipline proceedure and say cheerie o...you carnt do the job..look elsewhere...this will happen in some form or another
Keep striking boys
Catch you in the week..Internet at 1 bar:-)
@Time2Kill I realise the question wasn't aimed at me, but imho whether the strikes continue or not the outcome will be the same. We should never have got here in the first place, and now neither side can back down. I believe RMG have played an absolute blinder here and the CWU used the only tactic they have thus playing right into their hands. There is no "out" for the CWU, they're all in and they can't back down. RMG are very clearly showing that the CWU are welcome to their IA, because that has given them the right to rip up agreements. RMG may be being aggressive, but they're playing by the rules (that were agreed by CWU and RMG) so they really shouldn't be accused of foul play. I may be proven wrong, but every single card appears to be held by RMG at this time, the CWU are losing public sentiment (imagine throwing away several days worth of wages when everyone is panicking about their fuel bill next month) and posties are publically saying they would rather destroy the company than continue working for it.
I've been in DOs lately. It's crazy. They're clearing more of the USO now than they have done in months because the appetite for overtime is so high. They'll strike but won't lose the money. Overtime rates are lower than the basic hourly rate, and we're far more efficient when we're busy, so thanks to the posties working their days off and doing overtime to help us recover from the action that you say should cripple us.
Have you been into a DO this week has mine is totally chaotic with trays after tray of undelivered mail on rounds which are covered and rounds uncovered just left, I've personally never seen my DO in a worse state, even when we had a number of staff off due to COVID.
As far as OT pay being less than the normal rate that is only marginally less for most posties.
@ Time2Kill.
Mines the same. The only overtime now being done is by the regulars.
As soon as it's cleared, and it will be, we'll be back on strike.
The number of casuals appears to be rising though. I did post that they get paid £17.55 an hour. Add on agency fees and van hire. Plus, the fact that they are not as quick as us posties. Even the over fifties. Why would they be? Another well thought out cunning plan.
So, an already decimated delivery service, is slowly getting worse. But that's okay as long as the white-collar workers get paid their bonuses and the shareholders get paid their dividends.
Share holders will get their big payday when this is split and sold off next year.
Postie's could work at Aldi maybe, but think that requires a brain....
This is worth 500p per share in pieces, only losers are the lazy and there's plenty of those.
Ispy you think your office is bad now wait till we all lose are jobs and there is 80000 vacancies for postman. We have 1 vacancy in are office and we can’t fill that .
Peaky, you really think that VESA are going to part with any more capital than is absolutely necessary? I reckon that the offer is going to be much lower personally. Any profit that GLS make (which will now probably be scaled back from the last forecast) will be offset by the RM UK losses thus devaluing the group profits. VESA will almost certainly use this to their advantage in order to offer a bargain basement price potentially leaving investors with high averages very much out of pocket. These guys don't get rich by pure coincidence.
I sold my RMG holding a few weeks back for a tiny profit based on 1m losses per day and short term liabilities just about being covered - I think this will play out in their results on the 17th March - shorts are seeing it the same way as I am and have increased their positions in the last few days with the overall position now at 3.59pct so they, like me can see a cut in dividend announced on results day to support the short term liabilities - I will look to buy when the share tanks on the 17th - gla dyor etc
I think everything has moved over to the IDS page on the board.
People asking where is madasaballoon?
The rep from Stratton, Swindon is alive and well on this board as Dynamo FC.
Madasaballon last post 3rd June 2020
Dynamo FC member since 5th June 2020, First Post 8th June 2020.
Abusive writing style identical - been looking at posting history.
Dynamo baldy LoL
Haha - Anger - Dave Ward is the new Arthur Scargill - led the miners to the top of the hill and led them back down again with no pay rise, no money and no job at the end of it all - Posties need to smell the coffee and go to Acas - even the Guardian is advising them to do that but oh no Dave Ward knows better
gl dyor etc
