I'm amazed how this stock has turned so negative when the news has been generally good. The turn from the peak a couple of months ago was caused by my selling a huge chunk over several weeks to pay for my new house. This seems to have spooked an institutional investor and the rest just followed....I've been delighted to buy back in at less than half the price I sold for!! Can't wait for the results.....would be even greater buying opportunity if stupid traders short this one.
Turn negative on Zam recommend short the stock (traders only).
that's how I see it. Strong $ is not helping the 3rd world to get out of recession , until that changes its all looking a little grim. Its going to take time but Africa needs food with a growing population so I will stay invested and watch with interest. GLA
I think the recent drop is more to do with the fall of the Kwacha and uncertainty/unease in emerging markets such as Zambia, particularly with the fall in price of copper. This is all cyclical though and it will bounce at some stage, interesting article in FT which shares my view: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/bb4610e2-8468-11e5-8e80-1574112844fd.html
A few more myself at 6.2p this morning seems just a 150k sale caused the dip but there was plenty more bought after that but as normal at the moment with AIM it seems to take a lot more buying than selling to move a price.
might end the day blue..........
reckon this may have one or two nasty surprises...but agree there's potential ...plenty of those who bought @6p are likely to have itchy palms
Added few more today
Yes but they've just cleared a whole chunk of debt and are rationalising. The growth facilitated by the debt is now starting to show returns on that investment, which is the whole point of it. I see the Kwacha is getting another hammering today though. Bought in at 6.34p this morning and reduced my average to 15p which is a lot more bearable. Would like to have bought a bit more but cash flow's not the best atm.
why? Still highly indebted ....perhaps they could sell some more assets to demonstrate value of their balance sheet and remove USD debt altogether? ...debt fuelled growth in zambia is troubling
I'm amazed the share price hasn't surged on last weeks news. Brilliant news on the tax and debt reduction, which remains a priority for ZAM, and then there's a focus on changing the debt to Kwacha, along with rising revenues and margins. What's not to like? I'm going to take the opportunity to bring my average down, i originally bought in a few years ago at 49p, despite the blips i don't see why it shouldn't get back there. GLA
""Bulls"" say 'Stay long on Zam!'
mm's were taking michael yesterday but somebody dumped 320k which explains the drop. I will be adding next week on this new dip very oversold/low shareprice for me
have access to LuSE?? ....the sp there looks expensive compared to 6p, no?
over 13000.... ...halved, but official cpi only mid teens
the Zambian Kwacha has taken another hit this week. that cant be helping, pity as the news released from the company seems positive.
Trading update expected at the end of Nov? - I'm surprised we are not seeing more trades taking positions in advance. It seems like the market has already priced in expected poor performance (although zam seem more upbeat on overall profits).
the flippers
perhaps..but unlikely to be in straight line ...plenty of distribution @6p to be absorbed...... as some flip part of positions at handy 15%
Stock was trading comfortable in double figures. Price gets battered due to Investec selling and trading worries. Now Investec are out and trading update was very good. Add cherry on top with yesterdays court judgement which releases more funds that were previously set aside and you have a great recovery play. Price 7p but that gives another 50% upside from here and that could be conservative !
then v cheap imv...the land in Zambia shd not be seen as Kwacha denominated...anecdotal experience elsewhere (Argentina) suggests that agricultural land holds its US$ value (and may even benefit from sharp devaluation) ...dyor, all
stock well bid now and 1 mm left at 7p offer
More money for the company with the release of the funds held over for the tax liability. This should now rocket as the dark clouds lift
plenty going on with ZAM today, and up 12% , whats not to like. this overhang has enabled me to get a 6.9av hopefully others have taken advantage. GLA
Just seen the second Rns what a great day for ZAM good news, overhang or not cannot see this sticking around under 7p for too long.
