Although Dan couldn't understand why anyone was selling. Seems they can buy back today st a nice discount. Wasn't news supposed to see us appreciating rather than depreciating. Need to change the music as this is all following the usual underwhelming delivery meets overpromise.
Deliver what you've said when it's expected just FOR ONCE!
the variants are not necessarily from a particular country, they take their name from where they were first identified but in actual fact the same variant can spontaneously arise in multiple countries. High transmission rates and evolutionary pressure from the host immune system can force the virus in all countries to develop the same mutations, hence the need for reducing transmission.
And then we wait for next week.
Would have thought at least one of the two could arrive as has been briefed to TW and Dan but alas probably not. They'll learn!
Still time to prove me wrong but history suggests we can start waiting again next week.
Glass 3/4 full and needs topping up ;-)
And then....
That’s the exact point. You will need a surveillance test and not just the diagnostic PCR. You need to be able to decipher the genetic map of a strain so that you know where that particular strain arises from. Lateral flow is good for population who are not travelling. But if there is outbreak in a particular county you will need PCR. Patients undergoing procedures will need PCR. Outside U.K. some countries are using lateral flow very limited quantities.
Mentioned where?
YGEN MENTIONED!!
Breakfast time interview on reducing testing costs for travel Grant Shapps.
https://travelweekly.co.uk/news/air/transport-secretary-accepts-cost-of-pcr-testing-is-too-expensive
Shapps said “I would love it if we can get to the point of using a lateral flow test when people get home, or no test at all.” But he stressed the government would proceed with an “abundance of caution. We don’t want people bringing home variants of concern.”
Randox isn't on the approved government list of covid test companies. They have a contract with Belfast airport.
Government alone contracts are worth 8 billions for variety of tests plus there are private contracts both here and in U.K. many countries including Canada, India, Australia, Europe are still ravaged with corona. It’s not only 2021 business but for next few years testing is going to stay.
I hope the Randox tests are better than the first crappy things they used eh! If Ygen went direct they could supply for even less. Well under £50 if they wanted to.
Gone are the days of £50 a pop for test + lab. Ygen will need to cut the middle man out and go direct.
I think everyone in the supply chain will need to take a cut to compete. The cost is in the lab work, so margins there will take a bump.
I wonder if we are going to be dropping our price for the pcr test? https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/travel-covid-test-pcr-randox-b1830553.html
I thought that they ain't made that much!
Well it wasn't much of a pump. It was 16p on Friday. Lol
Happy to be proven wrong but a classic pump and dump scenario over the last two trading days, based on the rumour squad.
Strange a regular 100k seller seems to have resumed business.
Well we have mirrored mhc the last couple of days, maybe getting rid of a few before said news?
Yes twix, agree. However BMD can't fathom at all why people are selling with this impending news to drop. Not expecting anything near his £100m number though. Just something half decent will do. Plenty sellers don't believe it. Of course it could be a crappy update first. We will find out soon.
IF. Just IF we don't end up delivering news and a rising SP by end of next week either then TW and Brokernan Dan will know just how I've felt for years at missed expectations. Not predicting it and certainly don't want to see it but I've experienced it enough times for a cautionary tale of surely history can't keep repeating. Fingers crossed all is as we all hope and expectations deliver.
Probably the same rainbow chasers who bought yesterday lol. Rns didn't come so off they go.
Hmmmm dropping like were not getting 2 rns this week!
Must be a good bet that ain't happening.
Just hope it's on track and soon.
I'm not too concerned as of now because we can't hit a barn door on expected dates. Always been missed by a country mile imv.
Delivery needs improvement but fortunately dates alone are secondary, so long as still in the same ball park.
Thinking about it, LR did say to expect some contracts around the time of the new US sales appt. Round about now is good with me.
how can he be sure news is coming, I know news is coming but I have no idea what really other than financial but news will come.
I hope he is correct.
he can't be sure of dates obviously, but the main point is, it's coming!!
Thanks bakky. Mind you I posted that at the time.
I was wondering if advfn had said more today as citygirl posted advfn related comment.
Mid week tomorrow so going to be tight for 2 rns if not one tomorrow. By tight I mean looking unlikely then that both would be this week.
Think that's probably going to mean hopefully one this week and even more hopefully one next week or both next or or.....
Delivery rpectations notoriously missed with this company but still time yo prove me wrong. Either way coming soonish one trust's.
absolutely threeskins. Though I will be very happy with more non covid revenue.
