Fair point
Yup, trouble is imv if we wait the next market crash is likely to be the mother load and last several years at depressed prices . I'd rather get a premium via a TO as I suspect that scenario would prove far more advantageous than waiting 3 to 5 years whilst invested rather than cash rich for opportunities. This pos has us locked into the next crash instead of out via a TO with cash in hand! After all the waiting that will be the such irony.
If a takeover was in the offing and an approach had been made then the directors would not be allowed to purchase shares. I would prefer that an approach isn't forth-coming anytime soon so that we can continue to progress commercially and hopefully see a share price which is more reflective of what we believe this company to be worth. Any premium on top of that would be great.....any premium on top of today's SP would not sufficiently reward the patience that many of us investors have shown over the last few years, especially the many of us who have been here since the dark days of the litigation case
My apologies for making a distasteful quip. I would not be surprised if a merger or T/O is on the horizon, with the bod hoovering up shares, when they have huge share options.
I still have a legacy 300k shares at old NIPT highs but sold the rest of the circa 2M holding. I do have great sympathies with some posters here as I do know what has been spread through back-channels to some investors here and I would have to say there's been a policy of deliberate mis-information. I am fairly relaxed that I will make a profit on these 300k but more likely in the event of an unexpected TO. After being a holder for 5 years now I too share the frustrations expressed. It would be interesting to know what Illumina and TMO think of this organic growth strategy as ultimately it leads to a higher TO price which is strange there's not been a low-ball offer by them or a 3rd Party.
Last September/October was a very bleak time and the inevitable flack was being received. Hemo referred to himself as Cassandra, myself as Mr Micawber and Florida as Polonius. It was an intelligent put-down to be fair but Mr Micawber wasn't as simplicistly optimistic acharacter as per the comment suggested.
Yes Mr Myers has increased his shareholding from 8.4% to 9.1% and does seem that there is a growing consolidation of shares among those within and close to the Company. The strange thing is that this is happenning at these levels despite there being no imminent news expected or shareholder value creation (apologies to other holders for referring to the 3 to 5 year comment) . So you would have expected that they would have awaited the sp to drift a bit more?
