Ahh another Xmas to look forwArd to.
Will Santa go up in smoke like last xmas or deliver for a change. What I've had it with is always hearing that we will be so much better placed share price wise in x,y or z. Yet I've been through the whole alphabet twice already lol
No davand he said...
"...subsidising it and will just add it onto the cost of the holiday. Anyway, I expect Ygen will be very busy with govt contracts to worry too much about the travel sector."
I summed it up as ignore for ease of using one word and just what point was bakky making by suggesting we focus elsewhere and don't worry about this travel aspect that we've focused on in the past to be involved with?
No need to be pedantic when the sentiment was clear even if you feel I slightly exaggerated it. Aimho
Twix, look on the bright side, it's just giving you longer to decide what to do with over a million quid at xmas ...
Bakky didn't say ignore did he twix?
I can't disagree chaps.
There must be a reason that this status quo has pervaded for so long and I gave a few of my own thoughts as to why.
Looking forward to US contract, covid quarterly update and enough details and numbers in rns. These would be a good start.
I have seen farcical amounts of anti climax here over years and Vialogy before it. Each time we are on the cusp and heading for the promised land.
Once again I believe it to be so, but the share price never seems to be playing the same game consistently. 25th time lucky
The SP is like Schrödinger's cat ... if you look at it, it's dead!
Stop looking and it might still be alive at xmas :-)
The SP is like Schrödinger's cat ... if you look at it, it's dead!
Stop looking and it might be alive by xmas :-)
Twix I share your frustration but this must appear on the radar and fly on fundamentals at some point - it just must! I mean, strip out all Covid testing completely, our MCAP is still a fair bit undervalued based just on our core products for NIPT etc. Add in the revenue stream from the Covid tests which are new contracts and therefore can only be seen a few months down the road, and eventually surely this will fly. Easy to say, difficult to do but, once again, just a bit more patience and we will all be rewarded imo.
Twix I hear your pain and frustration. I've only been here almost 18 months and I know you've been around a lot longer. Its difficult to comprehend that after almost 12 months of what has appeared to be a fairly steady flow of 'positive' news we are still at this level, in fact lower than pre-covid. It doesn't matter how its spun, shareholder return esp. for a clinical diagnostic company in this current climate has been abysmal and really would like to see the BOD challenged on this.
We are frequently the only company with best in class etc and yet worst in class for increasing shareholder value.
.....why!!!
(We are still stuck with poor market sentiment at past performance, we rarely if ever provide enough detail and no numbers, we brief on timescales and fail miserably every time! , we miss opportunities and come late to the party - land grab and covid tests, we make strategic errors - to fight litigation and not embrace fully the vivid opportunity until it out US behind. Etc)
We have done well in areas too, but we just fail time and again to deliver as expected or as would be required. I'm truly pi55ed that this is getting farcical - when on earth do we expect to get our next quarterly vivid test update! Complete joke!!!!
Oh, so we can ignore the travel sector and focus on the govt contracts lol
Pity we didn't get the tui contract let alone the keen pricing that inspires your ignore travel sector comment.
No US contract news for another week!
Look, I want news and news to welcome. We are sat at 13p, ffs!!!
We have NEVER delivered news to any expectation from anywhere, including our own and the Dan expectations not met but instead going down are another in a long list....roll on his 30p minimum! lmao
Can we just meet the minimal requirement to increase shareholder value and deliver!!
It's soooooo frustrating to be constantly stuck in this underwhelming performance!!
it's bound to make some difference. I doubt people will realise Tui are subsidising it and will just add it onto the cost of the holiday. Anyway, I expect Ygen will be very busy with govt contracts to worry too much about the travel sector..After all, they are the only company to use it's own test, in it's own lab, with it's own sequencing capacity. Can't be bad, just need to fill up that 10k capacity now.
Now I'm wondering how the travel firm's offering cheap pcr tests will effect us.
We just take forever to deliver anything but delays! Maybe next week!
they are delivering over 250k pcr tests a day right now. Can increase to 750k in a nano if needed. I don't think lab capacity will be a problem if they opened it up.
Ygen can offer 10k + a day capacity ..lol.
I just think that’s a lot of expectation all round - capacity and delivery are different, but...
I’m not going to pyss on our fireworks ??
Bring on the summer vacation fruit picking students - obviously minimum wage!
Dan, there is lab capacity in the country to do 700k+ pcr tests a day if needed. Or do you mean the bottlenecks at airports etc?
Hi Bakky
Regardless of who's test is better, how can you process hundreds of thousands of PCR tests every day in peak times - you’ve seen the queues. Of course bring it on - but how?
pleasure!
bakky my bad on the holidays thanks for putting me right
DAN, don't see your point about ODX and their test? They won't go away from PCR test because they will need to sequence positive tests for variants . LFT can't do that. Anyway Odx test isn't as accurate as some others like Avct.
andym, govt don't supply testing for travel if that's what you mean? Anyway it's a bit too early for the framework stuff imo. Then again? Just 1% or even less of the kitty will be transformational for Ygen. It's inconceivable to me that they won't get anything from it, especially when there are only 9 suppliers on one lot..
Problem is Andy
Are they now going to shift the goalposts again?
ODX are now claiming a high accuracy rate for their LFT. Will the gov have to go back on mass holiday testing due to the practical realities?
Unfortunately, that’s been at the back of my mind.
Dan
clutching at straws something might come tomorrow, with government news potentially allowing holidays, hoping they will want all the frame work set up so things run smoothly with testing. They don't want backlash from angry holiday makers if there are no pcr tests available.
This is going to 'take-off' soon surely? Ok when I say take-off, I mean relative to Ygen's usual underwhelming increases.. Very well positioned as both recovery of core business & a covid play.
You on the right board?
