My good friend Pat worries herself to death about the Coronavirus despite my reassurances that she has more chance of dying from the corn on her foot, it's very difficult to convince a born worrier that their mortal coil isn't about to unwind any minute now!
So using Me fag packet. If population is approx 60 million and we get 60% infection ( as per epidemiologists say) that’s 36 million infected; then 1% die that’s 360,000 extra deaths to process. Seriously ill comes in at about 4% requiring hospitalisation so that would be 1.44 million extra beds needed. So no trouble resourcing that then. Mind you that’s the optimistic view, some say it could be worse. I am off buying tinned food today.
MIB. WRES has always had shocking PR. Sending a raft of retweets out looks amateur especially when they are all from the same paid for shills. Dont worry about corona virus, it only kills less than 1% and the economy will be fine as the Chinese factories opened weeks ago ;-)
Stay dry all...gotta go and sign some stuff.
As a footnote!! I do hope that HM Gov have contingency plans for storage of bodies if this reached epidemic proportions. The existing levels wouldn’t cope. Graveyard plots are hard to come by and all the Crematorium’s round my way (I have 7 within a 15mile radius) are all pretty much fully booked all the time. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
As long as I can avoid getting it I might be getting busy!!! ????
A veritable Twitter storm from WRES indeed. What is the general opinion of the value of tweeting with regards to attracting large investors? Not sure the big boys read or take a lot of note of twitter
Well...WRES is holding up this morning given the bloodbath out there today. What a day? S#it a brick. Who'd have thought a flu bug (ha ha ha) could do so much damage. Look at the infection mapping for Italy. Nuts.
Someone has been busy this morning as I have just had lots of WRES tweets retweeted and pop onto my feed. Hmmm.. Is the PR machine finally dusting off? Perhaps they have a new gap year kid working on the PR as they tend to be keen.
