Bob's "Bob on" oldie!!
I didn't realise this fully but normal flu appears much more deadlier than Coronavirus with recent 30- 60k deaths annually just in the US alone:
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html
However I suppose the market reaction is justified to some extent, as at least we have vaccines in place to help tackle seasonal flu.
Question is where the heck did it come from?
Bob, have you seen the videos of bodies in the streets?
This is going to kill a lot of people, and not in a nice way either.
HBob
It is early days with Coronavirus and things could change, however reported mortality rates at the moment are still circa 2%, so you are quite correct in stating that flu will have killed multiple times more people over winter than Coronavirus has.
Let’s all hope that it does not worsen, and that China and Iran are in fact being honest about the situation.
There typo lol!:)
Bob,totally agree tgere
Hbob. Errr. No. How many cases of Corona virus in US? Let's have some numbers first. You have no data to compare re the US....yet. No one does because it has barely broken out in the US. It may not. Why not say malarial death rates are higher in Kenya than Alaska? It is true but totally and utterly irrelevant. Compare Chinese death rates re flu and you will find they are not near 4%. 4% UK would be almost 3 million people. 3 million dead from the flu...yes in the early 20th Century. Official death rates at just shy of 4% now as per WHO. Iran is is near 20%. Funnily enough I dont believe the Chinese data or the Iranian data. Flu does not cause borders to be closed or ships quarantined or streets sprayed with disinfectant. Nor does flu have a 42 day party pass to cause mayhem. 42 days, that is nuts. That is one awesome virus, truly awesome. 42 days to hide, grow, mutate, infect, wow. Evolution at is finest. That is the king of viruses. Chinese factores remain closed and is forcing businesses to bankruptcy...orders are to pay wages and costings. Let's hope the weather warms and slows it. Right now the data is unreliable and that is the scary bit, hence the jitters. The speed of the spread is gaining momentum. The land of the Chin will bury some bad economic data on the back of this, that is for sure. It will, all wash out, but the economic damage is going to be significant. It already is.
Exactly Bob & who wins out of all the "scare mongering" - the market makers! Keep all things in perspective, give a little prayer for those in infected areas but as always trust your own judgement.
8000 usa citizens have died this season from 'normal' flu and probably a good 1000 uk citizens as well..
Sometimes somethings get a wee bit out of proportion???
Soon be ISA time again ,,top up time
