Tuned in here today thinking share price must be above 10, indeed it is, finally crossed the magic number and holding, this likely has legs... {after a dismal few years recovering from the hyped sorrell}
Sold half @1115 for a very decent 17% profit (plus divs). Will leave the rest running for 2022.
Hi Montezuma,
Many thanks for posting the link re the Coke deal. Wouldn't have known about this otherwise. Looks like Wire & Plastic Products may have at long last turned the corner. Good luck.

Double digit sales growth in all regions, including over 20% in Western Europe. Net debt down over 30% to £1.6b, revenue £2.2b. 8% up today, the market liks the figures. Perhaps we've finally broken the tenner barrier properly.
Tipped BUY Rupert Hargreaves Motley Fool
Every broker increased there target price and the RNS was spot on . Not sure why we have not kicked on and climbed beyond the magic 10 . I have no doubt we will , patience is key . FTSE at this level we should be beyond 10 based on yesterday’s results
RNS is excellent. Divvi up 25% and strong revenues. Should bring a much higher SP. All looking very positive. Extract from CEO below:
"I'm delighted with our performance in the first six months of the year, at a time when COVID continues to take a toll on many countries. The like-for-like revenue less pass-through costs growth rate of 19.3% in the second quarter is our highest on record, as clients reinvest in marketing, particularly in digital media, ecommerce and marketing technology. We have returned to 2019 levels in 2021, a year ahead of our plan, with good momentum into 2022.
"We've also made very good strategic progress. Our recognition as the most awarded company at the 2021 Cannes Lions Festival reflects our investment in creative talent and the strength of our creative work over the past two years. Our focus on data, commerce and technology, through strategic acquisitions, organic investments and the launch of Choreograph, has supported a strong new business performance. Key assignment wins include AstraZeneca, Bumble, JP Morgan Chase and Pernod Ricard.
"In procurement, property and shared services, we are making strong progress as part of our overall transformation programme. We have significantly increased our incentive pools in the first half, to reflect the tremendous contribution of our people in these challenging times, and in line with our intention to reinvest in talent announced at our Capital Markets Day in December 2020.
"We expect our strategy to translate into benefits for all of our stakeholders: a powerful, modern offer to support our clients' growth; a great place for our people to work; a positive contribution to communities and the environment; and good financial returns for shareholders, with the interim dividend raised 25% and £600 million of share buybacks planned in 2021."
Don’t write WPP off is the call from the telegraph . Wall Street insider expect earnings per share £0.28 and sales of £2.6 billion . Big numbers but this has been the best quarter in marketing for many many years.
This has to bounce on results if not before. Boom time for advertisers and WPP will be no different .
just amazing how this just cannot break through 1000 !
The moving averages on the daily timeframe suggest a bullishness in price, as the 20, 50, 100 and 200 are all in a bullish alignment -- meaning the shorter durations are above the longer duration averages, implying a sound upward trend.
I was pleased to see it Top Pick in April's Shares Magazine. Sorry don't have link. Says WPP still look inexpensive. My target is 1040 by Y/E.
Yup, looks very decent, should get our divis back to 2019 levels, and sp back over a tenner very soon. Glad I held my nerve last year.
RNS. Strong update. SP touched 988 today then fell back. With LLOY results showing economy recovering better than feared should help advertisers in long run. Expect to do well in 2021.

Earnings, top line and bottom line, improvement is key for me. And move to digitalisation (some cash is spent here - which I like!)
Excited about the future.
Wrong thread, sorry.
So where are the results promised today?
If earnings continue to improve, these should be worth 12£ a share, going to hold... I believe advertising will be key to the recovery of many firms and it appears the newish ceo is coming good on his word
Think they could have been a bit more aggressive with the share buyback, jeez that cash pile!
Yes, your right. Especially with the share buyback to be commenced soon. Fingers crossed.
Haven't looked at my wpp in gosh maybe 8 months, nice recovery happend while asleep.... Metaphorically. Worth hanging on to or more gains to be had.... Just read last Rns looks encouraging
Excellent results : extremely upbeat about survival period through Covid and very positive for the future. Although SP has risen a lot recently I'm sure long term there is still going to be a lot more growth. Economies picking up post vaccine will exacerbate this progress. Lots to look forward to - definitely not selling my WPP any time soon.
