Should be “and US elections”
Maybe with covid taped US elections, may help us get a bargain price for a gaming stock. If I do invest it would be with Caesars as I can see them using their power just to keep expanding. Just yesterday another article came out re:Caesars/Hill’s
https://www.compare.bet/news/william-hill-and-caesars-enter-sports-betting-deal-with-the-indianapolis-colts
Cheers for the HL info, they are cheeky on the FX charges as you for a £10000, on the first 5000 = 1% than the next 5000 = .75 % (see below). IG seem to have better rates. I did sign up for an IG account but didn’t like the little hidden fees so never used it. I don’t think I would do much dealing in the US so probably just take the hit on HL for the odd trade.
Foreign exchange charge
Value of trade FX charge
First £5,000 1.00%
Next £5,000 0.75%
Next £10,000 0.50%
Over £20,000 0.25%
Online and HL app dealing charge
Morbox if you are right and the cause of the drop in Caesars and DraftKings is Covid related then it could work out perfect with the wmh vote next month
Just spoke to HL they said it was simple they buy the stock for you, normally it cost me 11.99 to buy an English stock but because it is an American stock the price goes up the more I buy , for me 30,000 will only cost me £164 and also there is no stamp duty to pay unlike in England so it sounds good ,mine is all through an isa , and your running balance would come up in pounds not dollars
Agreed, even the democrats would carry on with the opening of the gambling markets, CA will within the next year or two open. Every state is wanting a share of the tax income.
Iam with HL so I will speak to them , the biggest thing for me is which one Caesars DraftKings, and also the election going on at the moment , I know that a lot more states across America will try and push thro new gambling laws so a lot to think about I just know that’s where the big bucks are
Been digging this morning re: holding US stock in an ISA/SIPP, best article so far, but will look into further before dipping my toe in! Of course not only have got the volatility in share price but exchange rate and charges.

I’ve done a bit of digging this morning, this was the best article (so far) re: holding US in ISA/SIPP

Morbox iam looking to buy into the American gambling market as well not sure which one yet , iam surprised at the share prices tho , I thought they would have been higher with what I believe will happen in the next couple of years or are we missing something,
Also looking at Draftkings they have drifted away over the last 3 or 4 weeks.
Could be a good opportunity to buy some Caesars in the next couple of weeks. Does anyone here hold US stocks on HL platform in an ISA? If so any big issues in doing so?
I personally think it’s covid related, new concerns of impact on casinos and sports.
Caesars sp falling again today
Caesars (CZR) price has been falling from almost $55 last Wednesday to $49 and change today. Which suggests to this old cynic that New York knows they're going to have to put more cash on the table to get their deal over the line.
