Good rns - valuations are an absolute steal ! end markets wel lsupported by ESG/regulation - STRONG BUY
Excellent set of Q1 figures, with comments that upward trend is being maintained. There's a long way to go to reach sp highs of earlier, but a small step in the right direction. With the problems associated with GW, flooding in some areas, sustained drought in others, potable water management will be at the forefront of many local, and national authorities. Onwards and Upwards.
There will be an ever increasing market for their products.
I believe they offer a fairly essential service as water bills continue to increase.
On that basis, it’s reasonably inflation proof.
Yes, I thought from some of their previous comments that profits may have been tighter this quarter but it all looks Ok to me.
Nice update.
We are bouncing off current lows and making good progress.
PE (f) per Stocko is still c 16.
+ recession fears
A possible explanation for the decline over several months now, is the control of Congress in USA by Republicans. WATR is a stateside business. The Republicans are a deregulation party. Deregulation in the water industry is not good news for companies like WATR. Just my opinion.
What is explaining the massive drop of the past weeks and why some brokers are so bullish on Water Int?
''we have excluded a one-time gain of $1.9 million in 2021 for the forgiveness of a PPP loan granted at the onset of Covid in 2020. This loan forgiveness was treated in our 2021 audited accounts as profit before tax.''
Alessandro. Franchise income decreased because it bought the franchise, hence the income from it would appear under WATR income. .
Non cash expenses are depreciation, impairments, write offs etc. With regard to 'sales force implementation, No idea. could be a write off?
Allesandro. The figure of PBT of $7.55 M included a 'one off' profit of c $1.9M., probably, without looking, the sale of an asset.
Why the trading update states "PBT declined 3% to $5.5 million (2021: $5.7 million)" whereas last year annual report, Consolidated Statement of Comprehensive Income (page 29 of the document, page 30 of the pdf print out) reports a PBT of 7,556,039?
https://waterintelligence.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/WI-2021-FINAL-FOR-PRINTING.pdf
Who can translate this in layman's terms?
"Franchise royalty declined 1% to $6.7 million (2021: $6.8 million) due to the franchise acquisitions in 2021 reducing the pool of franchise royalty for 2022 (without these acquisitions franchise royalty would have grown 8%)"
How a non-cash expense reduce PBT?
"PBT declined 3% to $5.5 million (2021: $5.7 million) (due to non-cash expenses especially related to Salesforce implementation)"
Excellent Trading Update. Disappointed no N movement in sp Overally USA water strategy is in a state of flux, GOP now in control of Congress, and GOP's aversion to quality control on infrastructure, and fighting Democrats efforts to substantially increase infrastructure spending. It is always a problem for investors when a companys outlook is at the whim of politicians.
not a bad rns - some margin attrition but growing at a double digit, undemanding valuations and end markets supported by regulation and structural forces.
I believe the worse is behind us in terms of scalability.
Looking for margin expansion from here onwards.
STRONG BUY
Good update this morning with growth in all sectors...a good sign in these challenging times.
