£9.95 on ebay, £2 of the profit goes to charity as a shareholder has been through a tough time so VRS are supporting a charity of that shareholders choice. A very worthy cause ...... 20% of the sale of this item will benefit Great Ormond Street International Promotions Ltd ..... and a significant donation too

Interesting question Matt re: weight comfort. The masks generally in use are currently not heavy at all but not comfortable from what I have seen but that's the cheap and nasty end of the equation. Shifting volumes of these things relies on public buy in in to investing money which effectively cuts their risk to others and generally not the other way round. Its risk mitigation not risk elimination with any of these masks so this is why I ask the question about what graphene brings to the table. Its welcome news sure but its not going to catapult SP back to a quid without follow up applications which could build on the improved public awareness of graphene that this particular application could improve.
Is there potentially a weight/comfort factor here?
To hit the 94% filtration required for FFP2 tend to be thick and quite unpleasant to wear for long periods of time (think heavy duty DIY masks which are often to this standard). This is typically due to the layers of material required to hit that level of filtration.
Switch that wadding type material for a super thin/lightweight material such as Polygrene which still achieves the same filtration and you could go a long way to reducing that discomfort.
Facemasks effectiveness are only as good as the filtration bypass which occurs. While its nice to see a product and some orders, this IMO can't be considered a gamechanger. Furthermore I would ask the question as to what graphene brings to the facemask party that is not already provided by any other facemask which meets the same specification.
If these protect the wearer from contracting the virus they are a gamechanger... Everyone in a public place will want to wear one..... We canals go back to normal life once we all wear one!
It meets the important BS EN 149:2001+A1:2009 standard (Respiratory protective devices), its antibacterial performance is certified according to GB/T 20944.2.2007 and its anti-viral performance is certified according to ISO 18184:2014 (E). Consequently, it meets the guidelines issued by the World Health Organisation.
I think that says the masks work and the people that have bought them already know.
I would like some masks if they are proven to work.
Thanks GoldenBull, answered!
Yes, seems to be a lack of detail here. Why are they so great? If there was a USP here then there might be a bigger movement on the SP
Regardless, I hope this is the start of the release of more updates on business developments
Graphene filters can filter salt from water. It is done because of the size of particles that can be filtered.
In a similar way, the small virus particles cannot get through the mask, conventional masks don’t
stop them.
Huge difference, think about the medical use of treating infected patients .
I want one for all my family as soon as I can get them.
I don't want to get into a 'mask efficacy debate' , but I'm not seeing how graphene has made current masks any 'safer'? What's the USP here?
These masks will save lives.
Wearing a mask protects others by stopping coughs and sneezes.
The virus once airborne is very small.
These masks stop the small particles entering your own nose and mouth
They protect others and you as well directly.
This is how I understand it.
Was just thinking same as BassCadet... So what extra benefit does it bring? Or, given evidence is flaky for masks anyway, perhaps they can't claim anything just... "Here's a shiny new mask"
Anyway, if it makes the price go up and they sell bucket loads, even if it is a kind of 'snake oil' I can live with that!
Fred - hopefully this is just shoddy RNS composition.
ISO 18184:2014 (E). - THIS STANDARD HAS BEEN REVISED BY ISO 18184:2019
Why refer to an old standard?
Aren't there other masks that meet those standards. If not, why not say so?
It's good news though. Glad to see something commercial at last.
Presumably this is what caused the surge last week. I am not happy that we are being told now when others obviously knew last week and dipped their bread in big time this is not the way to run a business.
However it does appear that we have a product that someone actually wants to buy which has got to be good.

I think this may help you
That’s all I need to know not sure others are as well accredited competitively priced and fit for purpose .
Really like this bit what’s not to like .

Would be nice to be told what extra performance adding Nanene brings over non-Nanene face masks.
