Freetrade works well for me. It’s a bit basic, so might not be suitable for some on here, but I like the app a lot. You can trade for free with a General Investment Account, get an ISA for £3 a month or get a lot more features including a SIPP for £9.99 a month.
I was with iWeb - their fees were some of the best on the market, but the lack of an app was a negative, as I prefer to trade and check my portfolio on my phone. Also, I personally prefer the model of a subscription fee and no commission on trades. Worth a look anyway.
Hi Dan -
I'm sorry if my information contained inaccuracies.
Yes I've traded more than £24 in trading costs per quater thus no fees at IG.
I just saw that their quarterly fee is £24 but reduced by trading costs. I guess I have always traded more than that in fees.
That may change as I have shares I want to sit on. I will not be impressed if I will start paying quaterly fees. Iweb share dealing I don't think has ever charged me so maybe I'll then be trasferring money there, or I'll just bite the bullet and pay.
Unless if I'll trade enough per quarter to cover the fees.
Good luck, (as long as you are not an ex vodafone employee with a massive chip on your shoulder) you should be fine!! Sorry, but I have to live up to my wicked sense of humour (according to c.s.d.i.). Anyway I am filtered for good, so no harm done?? O.K. you can tell me off if you want. I can take it? Cheers.
Retiring in the next month or two at the latest Dan, then will be transferring my works pension to my sipp, for further investment, so will have to see what the share prices are like at that time
cheers
Thanks rob. Can we gather that you are retiring?
Hi Dan, thank you for that compliment, but not sure I'm worthy of it
with all the doom & gloom in the media about energy prices and inflation, sounds like it could be a challenging winter
but some good events would be nice, and let's hope things will swing in our favour well overdue i think, hope we all have a fun week
best of luck
Sorry about that, but hopefully Mikey will filter me for good as promised. If he does, then I would like continue posting here if that's ok? If Roofer is going take over from robleo, (not an easy task) I will say thank you, & I will go 1.25.1. please. I thought I had better get it in before mid night as I don't want to be accused being a **** head by Mikey. Way past his bed time of course. Good luck all & lets keep it fun please? Thanks again to robleo.
Let's just hope Mikey has finally found out how ( after years of trying ) to work out how to use the filter? Go away Mikey, then you don't have to say you are going to use the filter over & over again, but you have to stop un filtering, or of course you could just throw your keyboard away as suggested by Gary.. What part of you are very boring, with your juvenile tit for tat posts, don't you get?. Please, please filter me for good, then you don't need to come up with stupid replies.. Good bye Mikey, go away ,for the the last time Please!!
Thanks Roofer, I'll go for 125.4
Thanks Roofer, 119.50 for me.
Fredrumble...i will join you Fri close for me 1.245p, let the bit of fun continue.......Gla
Stay here, keep reading but throw your keyboard away Mikey then you can't post the same crap over & over again, simples!!!
I’ve sorted it Robleo - filtered for good .
yes it's shame they can't work things out.....maybe there neighbours and just don't know it...there's food for thought.....i've mixed bag of stocks and funds some are doing really well AV GSK LGEN others like LLOY WPP not so good depends on when you buy...my avg on LLOY is 59p lol it will come good one day whether i will still here on this mortal coil remains to be seen
I also have Lloyds robleo, sounds like we have a lot of the same shares. My average is about 43p, so I’m marginally in profit, but it’s been another share where the macro environment has impacted the share performance more than the actual results. Another one to be patient and collect dividends from.
Disappointing week again for Vod, but I clawed things back a bit and I was glad to see the divi appear yesterday! GLA
Cheers soton, shares are doing ok at the moment, dividends are still flowing, but they could be better, just getting myself ready to finish work and chill out now
Shame than Dan & Mikey can't find a way to resolve their differences here, but only they can work than one out
Happy investing all
Yep was a bit of fun sorry to see it go but understandable.....Not sure where the share price is heading hopefully in an upward direction have said before this one does test the patience....breakeven price of 126 for me with the latest divi guess i'm one of the luckier ones although it doesn't feel like it at times.....Rob don't over do it at work and enjoy your well earned retirement.....
Sad the competition has ended i will now have to play with myself!!
“I am not blinkered as I have access to all of your previous posts, some against me were very offensive.”
Haha - have you read some of your posts back - I think you will find many of yours are far more offensive to me - but then again it shows your are blinkered and it seems you are allowed to post anything .
I see your last few posts are early morning again , probably been having a few late night drinks to console yourself in your padded cell .
As somebody posted , its easy to make the board as you like it , just filter me , as I am about to do with you again . If you dont know how just ask your carers I Am sure they will so it for you .
Dont bother responding with your normal vitriol as I wont be reading it . Must be time for your next lot of medicine .
Ta ta for now
Continued. This is not about me against Mikey. It is about whether you want to de grade this forum into a forum for disappointed share holders to just whinge & moan. Come on children, grow up for gods sake? The stock market is not for spoilt children.
Hi rob. You say you are invested in Lloyds. Do you have posters saying sack the c.e.o. of Lloyds all the time,or is it just a vod thing? Do you have investors moaning all the time on other forums. Sorry mate, but I don't get this "It is my god given right to make money on the stock market" , so if I lose, I will throw a wobbly, so unfair? Thanks again rob for trying to make this forum fun, but please understand there are many serious investors on here that realise making money on the stock market is not a one way bet. If you lose you lose, If you win you win, just stop bloody moaning about it. Make it fun.
Mikey. I am not blinkered as I have access to all of your previous posts, some against me were very offensive. All I ask from you is to stop moaning because you are so very boring. As robleo says, investing should be fun. Some on here are serious investors like me, who own a lot of vod shares, but want this forum to be fun.. So try & have some respect for those who want to mix fun & serious investment. You have driven many good previous posters away from this forum with your constant boring, negative for the sake of it posts. Get that anti vod, bod, chip off your shoulder. You don't work for vod anymore, so move on, & stop your vengeful bull **** please, for your own sake as well as ours.
Must say a big "thank you" to Robleo for keeping the comp going for so long.
As they say, all good things must come to an end.
As someone who only has one investment, in another share, there will be little point in me adding any comments to the VOD chat. So I will say my farewells to all VODders and wish you all every success.
Cheers - C
Soton, how much time lol, it's ok for you another 6-10 years to wait, i should have retired 2 weeks ago when i got my state pension, have decided to stay on until end of oct then the Mrs has a long list of jobs for me to do at home, no peace for me mate
Rob same boat with lloyds my avg is 59p hang on.....take the divi reinvest and don't panic it will come good in time how much time is the question.... i still work so happy to sit and wait retire in 6-10 years depending on how investments go....good divi with vod but is hard to watch the share price drop
