"Hi fleccy, It always refreshing to hear from someone who admits they are losing. As for me, everybody knows I am a loser??,but losers, can very quickly become winners?"
I don't really care about being down, since I only invest in stocks I believe in, and I'm sure they'll come good. If you're really interested Dan, I can publish a couple of my Dashboard charts and you can see an overview where we are on a hourly/daily basis. The charts only show gains and losses, so don't give away anything I haven't shared anway.
Hi fleccy, It always refreshing to hear from someone who admits they are losing. As for me, everybody knows I am a loser??,but losers, can very quickly become winners? From 70k down too only 10k is not bad, & as you say, " we are down", you can always blame the wife?
"fleccy. The big question is, do you want them to stay in the red, so you can top up, or do you want them to go into the green?
I think I missed the boat on the other £10,000 I was looking at spending, at least for now. My total is still in the red, along with my Vodafone holding, but I'm begining to think this up cycle, for value stocks, is only at the begining. You might say, why not buy another £10,000 worth now, since I believe my stocks will maintain an upward trajectory, but I'm already over invested in cash terms, and only looking at topping up if my stocks are in the bargan basement. I keep a dashboard, which produces charts of my losses and gains in real time, as well as a historical chart that updates daily with the previous days closing price, and it's been a wild ride. On the 26th November 2021, we were down £69,831.69 in total across all our holdings/accounts, right now we're showing down £9,190.84 in total, so better than £60,000 wiped off our loss.
fleccy. The big question is, do you want them to stay in the red, so you can top up, or do you want them to go into the green?
My BT holding has just tipped back into the Green, joining my Lloyds holding, Vodafone is my only stock still in the red overall.
Just hang on in there, we are going back up? Why do I buy vodafone shares? Because they are there!!
Sorry Dan, I am hanging from one oce pick trying to type with the other. Excuse any typos
Robina. I meant a spike up, but it could be followed by a spike down, hence the ice pick. As for 1.30, looking a bit less likely now, but by next Friday perhaps? In my dreams? but never say never?
Is that a spike down?!
Musing: how long before 130p - my breakeven? It's like asking how long before our spaceship achieves SOL; the answer is never!
Android. I am just waiting for todays 2. o clock spike, ice pick in hand?
Here we go - the usual drop has begun
'When you see huge companies like Google investing a billion in a telecom company'
I guess the Gov buying a % of Idea from VOD was the remedy before this could happen. Interesting stuff
When you see huge companies like Google investing a billion in a telecom company you know for sure that telecoms stocks are way way undervalued - more money will go into them and sentiment will drive them higher, much higher imo - I think we are looking at 130p plus pdq here and more if the results stack up - gla dyor etc

Dan,
"I will go back to an ice pick & crampons" was watching this when Compound posted the parallel of ice climbing and crampons with the SP and market. I could hardly watch some of the climbs mark andre completed. Same with the Vod SP when it gets moving..

"It must be 2 o'clock" that was when I saw the spike today. There are times during the day when trading activity peaks an lulls, like night and day, dont you agree?
Hello Android.. I just wondered what you meant by,"I will go back to an ice pick & crampons" & also. ?? " It must be 2 o'clock" in an earlier post?
Thanks Dan
Think I will go back to an ice axe and crampons, as compound suggested earlier.
everybody happy today
Android. The M.C.B. buy back shares our listed by Goldman Sachs most days in the VOD R.N.S. They are bought in many transactions over the day, & I doubt they would be off book. Have a look at the next vod R.N.S.
I would be glad if I had bought them at 1.23, as I would be about £1.3million in profit at the current price.
'whoever sold 42.8 million shares at 1.23.06 got a very bad deal?'
I guess its an average price and might be the party who managed the MCB for VOD treasury over the whole period.
Anyone know how that works?
i'd have been happy if i'd bought them at 90p, unfortunately it wasn't me.
Thanks a lot compound. Seems to me though, whoever sold 42.8 million shares at 1.23.06 got a very bad deal?
Hi Daniel - you can view all transactions for the day by going to
https://www.londonstockexchange.com/stock/VOD/vodafone-group-plc/trade-recap
Information will be delayed by 15 minutes though.
An off book trade is where two parties basically agree a sale privately and then report the transaction on the exchange. There was a massive spike in regular trades (mostly auto trades) at 13.58 which must have been when the off book trade at 12.57 was reported.
Hello compound. Do you get this extra info because you are a premium member? Also could you tell me please, what an off book trade is, & how they work? Thanks.
