Shame the article doesn't explain why, or whether an improved offer is expected
The main reason it rose from 65p to 70p was due to italy offer.. Now thats not on table.. its going to go back to 65p again... but this time most likely going to hit new lows... To me BT looks lot cheaper than vodafone now... atleast for BT we can expect bottom.. but never for vodafone...LOL!
Well my post below is becoming interesting now. We've had a drop from 70 to 67 and the divi payment date is the 2nd. If this holds low and the price comes off after divi payment then I could get a entry that is less 'hollow' than I suggested in my previous post. Starting to look as though foresight and patience might yet pay off.
30th Jan at a price of 70.2: Robleo, the divi might be what gets me my entry around 65 or lower. That might be 'hollow' win if the SP doesn't fall further thant he 4.5p.
Oh dear... looks like Vodafone may regret this decision and mainly shareholders especially at depressing share price.
Perhaps they may have different offer but I doubt it.. Looks like market will punish them more ...
Sorry I mean Vodafone says no:

Rob. So why do you waste your time responding to the idiots gutter & jax? Ignore them. As for what I really think about this share, I really think it is underpriced. But who knows? Come on rob, get a grip mate, don't let these idiots drag you down.
Nice movement today
Yawn, when can I finally top up in the 50s jax? You have been promising for ages.....
Have you sold your shares yet or are you still loosing big time on vod?
Vod the sick man of Europe
Or is that Germany
Dan, you do whatever you want mate, i'm just saying i would prefer people just said what they really think about this share, whether they think it's going to be a worthwhile investment in the near future or not
rather than just wasting their time on a few people who are obviously just trying to wind everyone up, surely nobody takes them serious anyway, it sure would be nice to see this moving up though, it just seems to be getting left behind now
Keep the bathroom clear grandma, this is about to collapse
Tin hats at the ready
Happyzone. Love your rap, but I think we all know by now Gutter has a mental problem.
Stevebt. If the updates are good, the sp is likely to go up, if bad then down, pretty obvious really?!
Steve tb, I is finking it is goin downe unfortchenately
With all the talk of recession in Germany, which of course is one of VOD's main markets, it's difficult to be optimistic steve. Given the recent poor shareprice performance it's unlikely to go up unless the results and outlook are better than expected. My expectations are very low.
What's peoples opinion on the direction this share will go on Monday? In recent times updates good or bad for all shares only tend to go one way and thats down.
Rob. Nobody is calling anybody an idiot for saying the share price will go down, why do you keep saying that?. We are calling them idiots for talking complete repetitive & sometimes illiterate rubbish. Of course the share price can go down, I have never called mole-man an idiot. We all know who the real idiots are.
It be fallin down hard.
We is al gonna loose our shurts on this wun...
Thanks Beo for your well informed opinion. Let's hope that we turn a corner soon and fingers crossed that the tie up with 3 gets the green light. Good luck in any case.
Sorry should add another CON
Spain & Italy disposal's whilst being able to accretive to the ROIC. would limit the markets for Vod to achieve growth. And the SP is all about what growth and future prospects look like
Me personally, Yes
Pro's
Q2 showed growth in the headline numbers, albeit on fewer customers.
Lower Net Assets was a cyclical thing. H2 will show this and show a material YoY reduction
UK Merger should improve ROIC - thus improving FCF
Spain Disposal should improve group ROIC - At the moment this is below cost of capital - thus a drag on the FCF. Removing it, whilst reducing our EBITDAaL will improve our FCF, as at the moment for every £1 we spend on capital we are returning less than this in FCF
Italy disposal / merger - exactly as per Spain.
Reducing the cost base - still in motion here.
CONS
High Inflation - cost base continues to rise, whilst we can capture this in Yield - it will impact our subscriber numbers
Dividend cover, whilst I believe FCF improves, with all the above, the impact on our EPS will reduce (as some of the cost of capital is equity which is after EPS). so therefor our Dividend cover reduces. with Dividend cover already close to x1 this does scream out dividend cut which could hurt the SP. But hopefully economies of scale via UK merger / Italy merger will mitigate to some extent
So yes i think there is more Upside that downside at this point in time.
Happynoze, I is very pleesed to sea that you has wrote a song for me
I'm sure that's not helping Beo. Incidentally, do you see any prospect of a recovery here in the near future, bearing in mind we have Q3 results next week?! Thanks.
For me, the drag on today's SP looks Vodacom related IMO. Down nearly 4% and considering we are the majority interest there and any drop in the Market value means a drop in the value of our Asset its got to have some impact.
