This is starting to look dodgy
bt very close to 52week high.
vod down
If it drops below £1.20 i will be moaning
Hi robleo. You mentioned snakes & ladders,& after the quite sleep fall for the sp the morning, still no sign of Mikey. I wonder if he has been practising his skills in patience, by playing snakes & ladders? What goes up will probably come down, which is fine as long as it goes back up again, so let's hope for more ladders than snakes.
Newbie642. Hello Pete. Long time,no speak. It's always nice for you to know there is someone out there worse off than yourself , so I'm glad I give you hope? I can remember when 1.60 was tipped by a broker a long time ago & I thought they were joking. The sp was over £2 at the time! My only consolation is I have had small top ups at 1.11. 1.16. & 1.21. But that has reduced my average by only a few pence. £1.60 would be good though. Cheers mate.
I won't be complaining as long as it's going up Gary, will be nice to recover losses from this share, let's see how far it can go
Goldman Sachs- conviction Buy list and 180p PT
Oh no we're down 0.1% & have been for 8 minutes & still no sign of Mikey
Stormer, I hope they are correct for all of us in their guestimation (is that a real word). That would be the first time I’ve been in profit with Vod since it started falling from the early 160s. I know Danielh is worse off than I am. But it does give us hope for the future.
Have a good day, Pete
GOLDMAN SACHS RAISES VODAFONE PRICE TARGET TO 180 (160) PENCE - 'CONVICTION BUY LIST'
Hi robleo. Vod on the nas looking good, so I expect a rise in sp tomorrow, not as much as today though I suspect. As for snakes & ladders,we all know you get a snake sometimes, we should just hope for more ladders? It's just the role of the dice sometimes?
Hi Dan, most hopeful I've been about this share since last may, not many moans going on here at the moment, expect we might get a bit of a drop back in the morning but making good progress so far, I will go for 123.50 for Friday, just hope this share is not playing snakes and ladders with us, seems to be getting too strong for that now
GLA
Well obviously a great day today, although fell back from the high, Mikey cheered me up, with his can't complain post? Can he really be the Mystery buyer? I don't think Isaac Newton would describe today as in free fall though, although the big apple did cause a late fall!! What do you think robleo, a good day or what? As for mole-man, do you think this is a false dawn. Does fleccy want the sp to stop rising, so he can top up? Gary clearly doesn't believe in Santa, so I will agree with him that a takeover is unlikely. Caveat Compound is hedging his bets, MaryBr & her shed load at sub 60p, no idea what that is all about, unless you're re investing the divi over about 15 years perhaps? Shall I give up trying to get an answer for that one?
I think my Friday close price is still in the running, although I hope it will be higher? Anybody else want to make a Friday close prediction? A bit of fun perhaps, Gambling should always be fun, & the stock market is always a gamble? Well except for the professionals of course.
Well considering the ftse is down and america is getting a drubbing cant complain at that finish . Lets hope it can now keep above £1.20
Vodafone shares are in freefall? Apparently?
Yeah I'm good Daniel - just being realistic. Big spikes up on low volume to resistance points are usually worse for the overall SP movement. Would have preferred the slower grind up on decent volume and for good news and a spike to occur when we were in the 130s so 142 would be in range and I can cash out a chunk! Wasn't planning on that happening until May, but would have been nice earlier.
Will have to see how the afternoon and tomorrow progresses. US markets are nuts at the moment so who knows! Just hope we don't get a nasty shooting star candle today and a close below 120p. Would be nice to see that level act as support.
Beginning to freefall - where will we end the day
Nice rise today . America futures are well down so no doubt that will affect us . Would be noce to stay above 1.21/1.22
Are you ok compound, your last post hinted of negativity. (ref your post to Mikey) You are probably just being realistic though, but you will be pleased to be wrong?! Let's hope after Martin Luther King day yesterday , the Yanks have a good dream about the vod sp? "I have a dream" but I will try not to get too excited!
Today's big rise is mainly down to Goldman Sachs adding BT to their conviction BUY list with a 270 price target. It looks like the telecoms re-rating that many were hoping for may have started.....
Whilst it's great to see a rise like this, so far it's on fairly average to low reported volume. Trying not to get too excited just yet as sudden spikes like this on low volume can often lead to a big retrace, especially as it's touching the Sep highs.
I guess we'll have to see what the yanks make of this. Would be great to heavy volume this afternoon and the price to stay around this level, but like I said, not going to get too excited just yet.
There you go.
I probably missed the bit about 'fixed' debt and just read it as debt
Exactly fixed debt is actually eroded by higher inflation- so real debt reduces as a result
Hello Marcus. Isn't the point here that vod's deb't % rate is already set, so high inflation could be be good? What do others think?
Mystery Mikey. Now I get it. Mikey has been talking down the vod sp for a while now, when all along he was just waiting for the moment to pounce.
BT are also up today (I hold both).
I was reading about stocks to hold for higher interest rates and inflation.
Financial institutions and pension companies were on the list, but in addition so were companies with higher debt, which I thought was bizzare.
So could this just be about the wider market reaction to high inflation
