Well could have been worse looking at the start of the day - lets hope this madness finishes soon and the Ukranians are left to their Country and that idiot in Russia is wiped from the face of this earth .
Whilst the sp was starting to look up in recent months I felt a lot of this was ramping by brokers and pundits. I thought maybe it would jig along between say 105 and 115. Still a massive debt and ongoing spectrum costs although revenue was going up a bit.
Problem is VOD keeps getting clobbered and has been on a downtrend in recent years. With the current crisis I feared my 90p scenario might come to pass. I'm still holding though.
Sum of the parts closer to £1.80. Perhaps time for a break up solution to realise value for shareholders
Robina. You seem obsessed with this 90p price. Where do you get it from? A vision perhaps?, or are you just being negative for the sake of it?
"It is not a stock which will increase in value to any great extent.
To make money here you need to trade it & have a good crystal ball so GLAll"
Why wouldn't it increase in value, since it's trading at historically low value? Nothing to say VOD wont be £2 plus in a year or two.
Diversify into what Gary, absolutely everything getting hit
VOD is simply a dividend stock, you get a decent dividend for holding, that's all.
It is not a stock which will increase in value to any great extent.
To make money here you need to trade it & have a good crystal ball so GLAll
Remember to diversify fellow holders its the No 1 rule.
Looks like my 90p prediction a while back could be achieved in days but now for a different reason.
Oh I should add my average is £1.2628, and I saw value at that SP, do I wish I'd waited, of course I do, but hindsight is always perfect.
I'm happy enough with my decision based on the info I had at the time, and thats all anyone can say.
Just treat it as an opportunity to grab stock, anything under £1.20 is a bargain, it may well fall lower, but trying to time the market is a pointless exercise. Set a price where you see value and buy, whether its lower than the price now matters little. If you see a profit over the next 5 years, its time to buy, if not wait till you do.
Some heavily weighted stocks in FTSE are having a good day. Oil companies and miners. It pulls the average up. Everything else just getting reemed.
It is general panic, same as the pandemic panic.
Why so much worse that the ftse
Wow going from bad to worse - where is this going to end in the Ukraine - somebody needs to take out that evil . Markets are crashing again and it seems there is no end to it
vodafone ukraine down
Let's hope this is a week where everything gets better
Don't mention the war?, I mentioned it a few times, but i think i got away with it
Basil fawlty ;-)
Just about nobody left soon doing anything with Russia;
Developing Telecoms article
Vodafone Group broke off a 14-year partnership with Russian operator MTS, following waves of other firms in multiple sectors breaking professional ties with the country, after the invasion of Ukraine commenced.
In a statement, UK-based Vodafone Group said: “Vodafone confirms that it has suspended its partner market agreement with MTS.”
The decision was announced only two months after the two operators extended their partnership to 2023. As part of the deal Vodafone would give MTS access to its expertise in procurement, marketing and network operations. The agreement dates back to 2008 covering those areas but was also expanded to cover a series of joint projects.
Thank's robleo & also to mole-man for making his very valid point. No Friday guessing for the time being?
Yes of course it is Dan, and your right in pointing that out to me, in the short term though we all know what's affecting the stock markets right now, which is things beyond our control, so future planning is also important for us all
robleo. Ok, Fair point? Wrong forum though? Have a good weekend.
Good evening guys,
RE: Somehow guessing next weeks price direction doesn't seem fun. I'll abstain for now, I will echo that mole, will be quite happy to see this drop below a pound in the short term if it will help to bring down this mad man, he makes me feel sick, and he has to be stopped one way or another
Have a good weekend guys
Somehow guessing next weeks price direction doesn't seem fun. I'll abstain for now.
Go Ukraine.
Well it looks like wise old mug got the closest, Even mole- man looked bullish. Me, well, way out. Next week I will predict 1.30. I don't suppose anybody is going to celebrate today though? Infamy, I think is the word for today?
