Depends on junky Talktalk , if VOD buys it, 100p, if not , at least above 130p.
Don’t know why Vodafone is even interested with Talktalk, which has nothing in its core and bad reputation. My price tag is 0 for it, I could be wrong!
Hi robleo. Although I would love to get back my capitol losses on my vod investment, I am now happy to hold for the 7% divi, so if the sp is about the same in a years time as today, I will be happy with a 7% return. If the sp rises by much, then I will be very happy. If of course the sp dives then I will be cheesed off, but I am not going to whinge about it.
Hopefully we have a few more ladders to climb before we hit that snake, then it will depend on the size of the snake, you have to be very brave to play this game, it's not for the snow flakes ?
Does anybody on here have any idea what Mikey is going on about? The sp today is about the same as this time last year, before rising over the next few weeks to about £1.41 on the 14th May, it then fell quite sharply & continued to fall afterwards according to the info on this site.
Not a good day - at least we stayed above £1.30 - lets hope this isnt the start of the slow decline downwards that seems to happen each year around the next few weeks.
It sounds like Mikey is getting confused again by saying" looks like we are in for a rough week yet again" The last 2 weeks have been good for the vod sp? Poor Mikey.
No worries, I'll be happy if you win too... not the best start to the week so far
Sorry offmessage, I hope you win, I didn't see your 1.36. As for C.S.D.I. Well, what do you expect from a Lloyds banker?
Just to be pessimistic I'm going for 1.30 - in the hope I get it totally wrong again and everyone benefits.
Cheers - C
Prediction Guesses for 22/04/22
well good luck guys, hope we have a good week
robleo 1.32
offmessage 1.36
daniel 1.35
FredRubble 1.33
mole_man99 1.26
sotonspike 135.2
Not looking good in the states - dropping quickly last half hour - over 1% down . Looks like we are in for a rough week yet again
I will go for £1.35., I would have gone higher, but vod on the nas' today not great. So unless there are any higher bids, I hope sotonspike (135.2) wins. Champers all round??! What's .2 between friends??
Well at least I'm not the only one talking a load of balls lol, very wise words from you two as usual, cheers guys
Hey Dan that's a lot of balls going on there....I managed to get a bit of this at £1.05 and got my average down £1.29 so willing to take a profit at £1.40+ you do need big balls to hang on to this stock up and down like a fiddlers elbow....
Well robleo, It's all crystal balls to me. I don't like following patterns for previous years on principle, but of course if enough investors do, then it can become a self fulfilling prophecy? I know it is Easter, but we don't have to be sheep? baa! But of course you may be right, although your mistake in not buying at ?1.10, is only with hindsight, & although I did top up at £1.11, I was probable just lucky. I have topped up a lot over the last year, all at lower than todays price, so getting some of my previous losses back. My biggest top up was in June at £1.31, so with the 2 divi's I am up about 9p up that buy, (not a lot) but my other top ups have been at lower prices. I need it to get back to £1.40+, but of course I wont be selling, so I hope a fall from 1.42 doesn't happen. I just don't have the balls (crystal) or otherwise to 2nd guess the market? Your point about topping up when the price is low is an obvious one, so good luck with that. What is low is the big question? It is all just relative. If the sp goes up to £1.60 then the price today is low, if it falls then the price is high? A load more of crystal balls. Cheers.
Hi Soton, yes that will be something to consider depending on what happens here and how high it will go, enjoying the upward ride at the moment, I also I made a mistake of not topping up here around 110 which would have given me a better dividend yield, so I think I will need to start trying to make this work better for myself
something I was trying to put to Dan on my last message to him ,but I did it very badly I think with not much clarity
Let's hope we have better investing times
Hi Rob....i ain't got a crystal ball but my thinking is when this gets above 140 i will put a sale limit for half my stock invest the monies else where so hedging my bets so to speak i don't hold any mining stock so looking to invest there.....as for LGEN one to hold forever
Hi guys, hopefully this will continue rising for a while, the only concern I have is when Vodafone reached it's hight of 142 last year 10th may, it then took a sudden drop back, I don't recall any particulate reason for it at the time, it then carried on dropping all the way down to 106 at 3rd November, does anyone think we may get a repeat of that this year ?
danielh advise
Do not touch the black horse chat board.
Hi sotonspike, I've got that and good luck and also with Lgen, and I will go for 132
Hi Rob have a good feeling for the week ahead so can you put me down for 135.2 thanks .....Hope i haven't just given it the kiss death.....
Hi Dan with that sort of money sloshing around maybe the drinks should be on you......Anyway you saying about a nice bunch of chaps on Persimmon forum ...You should take a look at GLO there's a guy on there TrekMadone really good intelligent thoughts from him....Shame he doesn't hold VOD and LLOY....
Dan, interesting topic that, as you know I'm always trying to learn from more experienced investors, with the hope I can get a bit better at this game, as I see it dividend stocks seem to go in a cycle throughout the year hitting there top price usually on approach to exdiv and bottom price somewhere in between, so if history repeats itself Vodafone hit it's peak last year 3 weeks from now, then started it's famous ski slope, and that's not always a bad thing as it then gives investors an opportunity to top up on the lows increasing their shares at a discount price, but hopefully some of the more experienced investors will correct me and give you some good advice on that
I just had a quick look on the Persimmon share chat forum, & what a thoroughly nice bunch of chaps you all are? Spiffing! Stiff upper lip, & not a whinger in sight? ____ I have got to sell about £8k worth of vod shares some time soon, but not sure how long to hold on hoping for a higher price? Good luck all.
