Shame the SP couldn’t hold above 130p after good numbers from T-Mobile on Wednesday.
With so many recession fears you would think Vodafone SP would at least be steady . Maybe a short term pullback with cash going back into NASDAQ/Tech for now.
Dont worry Read will save the Company - more like get a lovely payoff with a massive pension . He has done **** all since he has been in charge - the FT article shows what the major shareholders are actually thinking . Time to go and get somebody in who knows what he is doing . He gives a good talk at results but cannot follow through with it .
The blinder US market was having was a head fake. Amazon then came out with earnings and said it's all gone wrong. Apple had a great qtr, then promptly fell. Investors have no apetite for risk.
And now we are in to the sell in May and go away debate period.
Did somebody say it should be a good day today - it is vodafone you are talking about !!!!!!
Well the Dow is having a blinder Nasdaq is even higher so should be a good day tomorrow c'mon Vodders....Am off to Norway next week so would be nice to have a good ending to the week just to make my hols a little bit better....
Probably a good thing you sold, you don't have to worry about it anymore, not many shares are doing well right now, but the dividend income will be good untill things recover
Never fear - America is trying to drag it down again !!!
Dan i did say if we are winning the opposition gets silenced, Very quiet here today, at least the share prices are up, great to have a holiday in the sun looking forward to that, state pensiom coming end of july, but not decided when to finish yet, great to be outdoors in the summer time, but i expect it gets a bit boring in the winter
Robleo. Well said mate, & at the risk of inviting a knee jerk response (which I can take?) your point may apply to me as well. Just keep working for as long as you can, unless you have a very rewarding hobby to take up. As for needing a holiday, I have a week booked in June/July & a week in October. My real passion of course is skiing, but I struggle a bit with my fitness, but still hope to go next winter, I have a lot of catching up to do holiday wise after covid. If anybody fancy's a bet on me to win tomorrow's s/p close, I think you can get about 100 to one" Please keep the good humoured banter coming, I think we all need it? Perhaps Nick Read needs a holiday, any suggestions? NO, NO, I am only joking.
hopefully a better day tomorrow, everything's taken a beating down this week
Maybe this is what happens when you retire, you get bored, think i will continue working, maybe Mikey needs a holiday, any suggestions where he should go ?, no offence guys just joining in the fun
Mikey it is not obvious why you own one share, apart from the fact you are a complete idiot. Why do you need to own 1 share? Can someone on here please explain what Mikey is going on about, or is he just a total idiot? Why do you lot support this moron?
Robleo. Well I do (Try) my best, & although Mikey is very difficult, I will try to (convert) him, because that is my goal. But as for you with your egg shaped balls, Dodgy or what. As for Mikey travelling down South , dangerously close? Perhaps he is going to see our friend in Southampton for free champers? Don't forget Friday? Ok, so a crap day today, moan, moan. Sorry, pull yourself together danielh??!
Not much makes sense to you daniel - and if you could read you would have read a post of mine yesterday saying i had taken my filter off as i had so many green filter posts showing . Isnt it obvious why i hold one share - no of course it isnt to you - maybe you are going a bit senile !!!!
Well I am pleased that you enjoy my comments, so no filter eh, that's ok with me. You sound a bit happier which is also fine with me. As for your comment" vodafone owed me my living" I said you owe vodafone your living? (total opposite meaning) But clearly you don't read, or even try to understand my comments, but most of your post to me make no sense as usual. Why hold one vodafone share? You need help, Not sure about the pills you refer to, I don't take any, do you?? If they work though? why not.
Well let's hope the share price starts rising again guys, it's a bit like playing rugby in an away game, if your winning the crowd get's silenced, and Mikey will be speechless lol
Oh I do enjoy danielh’s comments . Oh just for fun I kept one share - so I am a vodafone shareholder - prefer my 1 to your so called 191000 . No wonder you are so angry and aggressive to people who are not happy with the way vodafone has gone over the lst few years . The fact vodafone owed me my living for 22 years has nothing to do with the CEO , vodafone was a great Company to work for and looked after its employees . If I feel the CEO is not upto the job then what has that got to do with it , I know many employees who thought the same it doesnt mean to say that they dont work their guts out for the company . Be happy Daniel . I am with my 1 share . I suppose all the shareholders who were quoted in the FT article didnt know what they were on about as quite a few were negative about Read - god forbid anybody be negative about danielh little vodafone baby . Off down south for a few days - lets hope the shareprice is going in the opposite direction . Time for your next pill yet daniel ?
The more you read Mikey's posts, the more you have to suspect Mikey was given the sack by Nick Read, If I was Nick Read, he would have gone a long time ago, but clearly Mikey has an axe to grind, Sad, but Mikey needs to move on from his sad life with vodafone & give us vodafone shareholders a break from his pathetic, chip on the shoulder posts. Mikey obviously doesn't like vodafone, & he clearly hates Nick Read who he in the past has said is a liar, (the company he owes his living to) but I suspect the vodafone management don't like Mikey. Mikey needs help of course, but the vod shareholder chat forum is not the right place obviously. Perhaps some of you who blindly support him, can suggest a more suitable place for him to post on, I think that might help him in the long run?
It was a toss up who should go 1st? Mikey, or Nick? Did they get it wrong? What do you lot think? Answers in by Friday close please? Perhaps if Nick does go, & we all ask Mikey very nicely, he would consider being re-employed as C.E.O. ? I hope my mate robleo will keep score as usual? Mikey v/s Nick!!?? Could be a close call??
Well usual down day lately and usual last 5 mins drop .
Wonder if Read looked at the FT at the weekend . The sooner he goes the better .
Hello trader. Why do you say you know Nick Read is not very clever? I know vod is not performing well, but what is it that Nick Read should do if he was very clever? Just saying he is not very clever, is not very constructive is it? (with all due respect). I think most commentators are saying , vod. should try to merge with somebody, & it may be that talk talk is not the right company. He has a difficult task I think, but I don't know if there is someone else, who could do his job better, do you? Good luck anyway.
Sentiment today was never going to be great following the drubbing investors gave the us markets yesterday. First of the big earnings are in and they weren’t too bad suggesting economies have not gone to the dogs yet. All eyes on Apple Thursday.
It does mean a lot of things are showing very reasonable prices now. Makes the risk of holding vod for a div less attractive.
Sold my lots. I want to see how the junk Talktalk plays out first , don’t want to see my SIPP drops too much if Nick is stupid enough to buy it - I know he is not so clever!
Cheers Dan thanks for the honesty....i hold just over 11000 average of 129 happy with the divi but one hell of a roller coaster i have a varied portfolio and still work so can take a few hits as long as there not too hard.....your right about only invest what you can afford to lose... i still hold a stock that i paid 19p and is now worth 1.8 still hold it to remind me of my own stupidity......
That's fair enough Dan, as long as your happy that's all that matters, You know i do try to persuade you to put a little of that into something else sometimes incase it goes down, but you know i mean well, but good income from the dividens and hopefully the share price will rise eventually
