sotonspike. Perhaps vod does have the same commitment as Nadal, a true champion. I think Nick Read has massive commitment, as does Nadal. onwards & upwards. Nadal's injury happened within the 1st few games, so him carrying on probably made little difference. He was wise though to withdraw today I think? As for Nick, he is doing the best he can, in a very difficult world. Shareholder support might help. Come on vodders!
Yes Mikey a true champion shame he carried on in the last game but guess that's what winners do.....Just wish VOD had the same commitment as his as in with the share price.....onwards and upwards.....C'mon vodders
Bad end for the week at Wimbledon - gutted for Nadal :(
A good finish to the week would be good Dan, and we should all just laugh it off, lifes too short, and much worse stuff going on in the world, looks like we will get some nice dunny weather to enjoy the weekend , will be like being back in Crete only without the olives ouzo
Hi rob. I am reasonably happy with todays rise, but as you say a good finish tomorrow is what we need. I don't want to be called an underachiever, as well as a vindictive, sad, decrepid, bullying old man,who has no friends & spouts a load of crap?
Thanks for research
"vodafone needs to sell turkey before hyperinflation"
Vodafone have already advised on Turkey's Hyperinflation enviroment. I'm not sure why you think it's an issue for Vodafone, since they will account for the inflation in their year ending March 2023 results. It's seems to be more of a problem for the Turkish owned Mobile companies, with Vodafone now apparently the only privately owned Mobile operator in Turkey.
"In addition, it is expected that Turkey will meet the requirements to be designated as a hyper-inflationary economy under IAS 29 ‘Financial Reporting in Hyper-Inflationary Economies’ in the quarter to 30 June 2022 and that the Group’s financial reporting relating to Turkey during the year ending 31 March 2023 will be in accordance with IAS 29. Under IAS 29, Turkish Lira results and non-monetary asset and liability balances are revalued to present value equivalent local currency amounts (adjusted based on an inflation index) before translation to euros at reporting-date exchange rates"

"TWF, which already owns 6.68 percent of the operator, had been negotiation the deal with LYY Telekomünikasyon – the group of Turkish banks that owns the majority stake following the company’s debt default in 2018 – since December. TWF outlined in a statement that the acquisition demonstrated its trust in the long-term outlook of the country’s telecoms market and the overall sustainability of Türk Telekom itself.
While the deal marks the latest twist in Türk Telekom’s ownership, it also raises questions about the future direction and composition of the country’s telecoms sector. TWF also hold a controlling stake in market leader Türkcell, leaving Vodafone as the sole privately owned MNO. While renationalisation of the sector hasn’t yet been mooted, the role of TWF and its plans for Türk Telekom and Türkcell, will be one to watch with interest."

Just checking everyone on this board is Happy and in good spirits, and hope we have a good finish tomorrow, maybe who ever comes last in the predictions could win the underachiever of the week award, what do you think?
vodafone needs to sell turkey before hyperinflation
Forgot to say Dan - drip drip down we go again
I have never once said I am better then Nick Read - i dont believe he should still be CEO but that is completely different to saying I am better than him . As usual you spout a load of crap !!!!
Because you keep putting down Nick Read as if you think you are better than him & because of your response to cheapshareboy saying your are very proud of what you have achieved in life, That is why I ask. But of course you don't have to tell me, but as I said, try showing some humility? It's a case of put up, or shut up. I am sure Nick Read is very proud of what he has achieved in life. Far more than you I suspect, unless you can tell us otherwise? Nobody on here is interested in your constant repetitive comments. (Those that haven't filtered you). Perhaps you should sell your one vodafone share, & move on.
Then why ask me Dan ?
I am a hopeless non achiever so never listen to me. Fitch however just agreed that the road ahead for telecoms is tough, and I think that debt will not help, is my point.
Fitch Ratings-London-06 July 2022: High inflation and lower economic growth will have a gradual and delayed impact on the European telecom sector’s ability to increase profitability, Fitch Ratings says. We foresee no significant degradation in pricing and cost structures in 2022, but we expect pressures to build up and temper growth and margin improvements in 2023-2024.
Stay invested in low/no debt companies with pricing power, but don’t listen to me. Non achieving idiot.
Nobody on here cares what I, or you, have achieved in life. I would suggest however that Nick Read has achieved far more than you & me put together, so perhaps Mikey, you could show some humility for once in your life? At least we both agree about what Rafa Nadal has achieved. Shall we leave at that?
I have no intention of telling you what I have achieved in life or what I did at vodafone . Why should I , it has nothing to do with you . The people that matter to me and my friends know what I have done and what I continue to do . Why should I tell anything to people who are on a board . You vindictive , sad , old , decrepid bullying old man who obviously has no friends and just enjoys thinking he is the boards ruler. What have you done in your life daniel . No dont tell me I couldnt care less !!!!
Dan i would never insult moleman, it's always good to have an alternative view, no disrespect to Mikey, but i think we all agree some new one liners would be appreciated, difficult times for investors at the moment and more to come, I know most of my shares have gone south recently and i expect it's the same for most of us, but don't really need to be reminded that the sp is dropping all the time, and this one is holding up better than most right now
good we can discuss it though and all give our own opinions, and we don't have to agree with each other
GLA
robleo. No diss respect, but are you seriously comparing Mikey to mole-man. Mole-man is a well informed negative investor of vodafone.; Mikey is an ex vod employee with a massive chip on his shoulder Nick Read hater. Please don't insult mole-man. Mikey owns one vodafone share,& just wants to take the mikey in his child like way for whatever reason, as he wont tell us what his job for vodafone was , but obviously has a hatred for the company that he owes his living to. Please everybody stop supporting this sad, vindictive idiot, Then perhaps this forum can be for sensible poss' or neg' posts, not dummy spitting , ex vodafone, chip on there shoulder employee, child like idiots.
Mikey. We have no idea what you have achieved? Your statement. So why don't you tell us? We are all waiting to know? What was your job at vodafone? were you better than Nick read? We don't know you, because you refuse to to tell us about yourself, so we can only assume you were a total waste of space, unless you tell us otherwise. Over to you, otherwise just stop your pathetic childish posts.
Maybe just maybe, Mikey and moleman may be right with 2bn euros needed for infrastructure etc, but i would much prefer for cheapshares to be right and see this jump to £2 , but you don't have to agree with me guys , i can take it lol
Cheapsharesboy, nick reed a genius lol, thanks for that mate, I needed cheering up tonight, I will have to refer you to the charts from when nick reed took over here, it's a proper ski slope mate, genius I'm beg to differ about that, but putting that behind us , I'm still optimistic about the future here, and as Dan put it maybe he can make a come back, it does seem like they are trying to put some good deals together, and no Dan i don't know who can do a better job
This is a chat room where we can try and learn from each, there are a lot more experienced investors here than myself, so if i can learn something from you guys I'm very grateful for it, so what i would say to Mikey and moleman , is if you think this a a bad place to invest in, please tell me where to invest then, I have to say mole has been very helpful to me with general investing advice
Haha thats quite a bold statement “when little people who never achieved anything ”
You dont know me - you have no idea what i have achieved in my life - and never will . I am very happy in what I have achieved , what I have done , and what I continue to do .
Broken CD can only repeat itself time and time again. I think Nick Read is a visionary taking all that debt on and managing it successfully will prove to be genius at a later date. For now we have the pleasure of mickey & mole who can only see the negativity. Each to their own conviction. I find it funny when little people who never achieved anything are so much smarter than the top ceos.
Of course sometimes a ceo gets it wrong but Nick Read is a genius
Mikey. fantastic match from nadal the brave warrior. I think Nick Read is a brave warrior as well? Perhaps he can make a comeback as well? I think though your repetitive comment, (yawn) is becoming a bit boring?? Try something new? Vod sp holding up, but needs to break up to 1.30 plus ,we hope?
