For £35 million after hours! Something has to be brewing here, for sure. It's really annoying though that we can't seem to stay above 70p. Just when you think progress is being made, down she goes again. Being a Vod shareholder is not an enjoyable experience to say the least!
Mole_man. I am sorry you can't afford to invest more than 20 grand a year in an I.S.A. & I assume this new British I.S.A. is for all L.S.E. shares?
Vod is up 10% over 1 month, I am fairly happy with this. But I am in no rush for the sp to run away with itself. It's better to buy it cheaper 😃👍
This article is not directly related to Vod but it does highlight the issue of how LSE is undervaluing businesses
"A major Currys investor has hit out at the “absurdity” of valuations on the London Stock Exchange as two more companies prepare to quit.
JO Hambro Capital, a top 10 Currys shareholder, criticised the dismal valuations the London stock market attaches to businesses"

So the gov announces a new british isa, so the 0.1% of people who can max their ISA allowance every year can put an extra 5000 in to British companies. We're all saved!
Wonder what a British company is? A kazak miner listed in London?
Be careful gutter, you don't want to be crashing again, your mummy will be so worried about you, and so are all of us
my darling gutter snipe,i don't know if you are an alien,an algorithm,a human, etc, etc, but whatever species you are i write to admire your ability in sucking in our vod team group, forcing them to react to your high quality in depth, myriad daily analysis.

World markets are also looking at Powell speaking on Weds. The money is now on a hawkish tone. No interest rate drops any time soon when many were hoping they would start this month.
Think Div focused stocks need to settle into a world of interest rates at these levels for some time.
Index futures around the world are a bit week this morning on reduced Chinese growth target so could be hard to make any gains for vod today's ,but let's see.

Switzerland’s government sees no scope to block Swisscom AG’s plans to buy Vodafone Group Plc’s Italian business.
Swisscom, which is majority-owned by the Swiss state, can buy companies abroad if this helps the business in Switzerland and the target firm doesn’t hold a public service function, infrastructure minister Albert Roesti said in parliament on Monday.
“If all these conditions — which have been agreed in the Federal Council’s strategic objectives after consultation with the respective commissions — are met, I have to say: No, there is no possibility to block this,” he said.
His remarks come after Switzerland’s largest party, the right-wing SVP, had voiced opposition to the €8 billion ($8.7 billion) deal. At the time, Roesti’s ministry had said the government had “dealt with the matter,” without elaborating further.

Correction. You can be so grumpy at times. Keyboard error. He could be a fat lady, but if his singing is as bad as his poetry, then I hope he doesn't sing. No spelling errors I hope? I don't want bloo telling me off?!
Dan, nah never grumpy me mate, just being honest i think everyone would have liked to see this jump up a few notches today, I even smiled when i opened my water rates bill today, ok maybe i'm not being honest about that, but never mind tomorrow is another day, it's not over until the fat lady sings, do you think gutter maybe a fat lady ?

At least it is a positive article even though the yield looks to be inaccurate!
It looks like the MMs have been preventing this from getting into the 70s. They wouldn't let it go to 71p and have now brought it back into the 60s. It feels to me like VOD is being held down which then encourages holders to sell. I just hope it can recover from here and not get dragged back down to the low 60s.
Unfortunately, this share never fails to __________ i will leave someone else to fill in the last word, i hope ladyboy gutter has a better feeling for tomorrow
"You would buy VOD if you thought you could make $15bn by splitting it up [and you had access to the finance].
A rival telco might believe they can get part of the company completely free by selling off other parts"
Why would a rival telco be in a better place to do this than the current management team?
A rival telco of the magnitude required to buy Vodafone whole would surely only play a premium for any assets it wanted and was willing to jump through all the regulatory hoops to do so. It would make no sense to pay a premium for assets you don't want in the hope you can sell them on for an even higher premium when everyone knows you want, or need based on regulatory approval, to get rid of them ASAP.
